Do you like to stay in the countryside, in the middle of the nature, completely surrounded by greenery ?
Our house was an ancient share cropping farm of 1600, totally renovated in 2005.
Today it comprises 25 magnificent acres of land and woods.
The farm inn Locanda del Papa is located in the ancient Commune of Carpena, on the hills behind the Cinque Terre( Riomaggiore ), a few feet from the Foce Pass, from where the view extends to La Spezia and the area contained between Portovenere and Lerici called the Gulf of Poets.
There is no problem with parking, since the property is totally enclosed and the access road is entered through a gate.
There are available six rooms with queen-sized beds. In the three largest rooms extra beds may be added.
All rooms have private bath , TV and wi fi internet connection ( in the room)
In winter the rooms are heated from a central furnace assuring the maximum comfort and in the largest rooms there are also wood stoves with visible flames.
In the summer there is no need of air conditioning. Nature provides it with its cool evening breeze.

David is a fantastic host.
He is willing to assist by any means to make your stay more comfortable. He is organised and can provide much information and recommendations on the local area.
The location is great by car, only 10 mins into La Spezia town and 20 mins to great local beaches. The room was perfect and included a kitchen and terrace area.
Would highly recommend.
Locanda del Papa is amazing! The B&B is in such a wonderful location. David and Roberta's home definelty lives up to expectations from previous reviews. Roberta picked us up from the train station, David offered us some lovely Vermentino and they both provided lots of great information for our stay. The breakfast was delicious. The room where we were staying was clean, bright and had everything we needed.
This was the first time we stayed here and we cannot speak highly enough about the way David & Roberta looked after us. The accommodation was spacious and clean with a wonderful view across the valley. The breakfasts were superb. We were even greeted with a cold home-made beer on our arrival! David & Roberta went above and beyond what was required to make our stay enjoyable and meaningful. The house is situated well away from the main road and we could really feel the peace and tranquility here in La Foce. The area also serves as a great link to Cinque Terre, and there are some excellent local walks as well. We walked from the accommodation to Riomaggiore (2-3 hours) and we didn't meet another person until we arrived at the town!
There isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said in the previous reviews! Amazing place to stay - comfortable, beautiful, convenient location.
David was a fabulous host! He was welcoming and friendly, giving us recommendations and maps and everything we needed.
Breakfast was amazing and fresh and delicious.
You cannot go wrong staying here!
David and Roberta were lovely hosts! David was always available for questions and had plenty of recommendations for our holiday near the cinque terre. He's passionate about providing a top notch experience at his family's B&B!The room is spacious and clean with a gorgeous view! We also had a bountiful breakfast prepared by his beautiful wife Roberta.
P.S. The small sandwich shop nearby was delicious! Thanks for the recommendation :)
We stayed in 5 different Airbnbs during our trip to Italy, and this was the absolute BEST. David and Roberta were so wonderful and accommodating that when we left their bnb, we felt as if we were leaving family. The warmth and hospitality they provided to us was more than we would ever expect. Locanda del Papa itself is more charming than words can describe. It is tucked away within beautiful rolling hills, but not too far from the hustle and bustle of La Spezia and the Cinque Terre. The breakfast views are so peaceful and overall unbelievable. Our room was spacious, beautiful, private, clean, and charming. I will never forget our stay here, and we will definitely return in the future. Thank you so much for everything, David and Roberta! If you ever come to Washington DC, we would love return the favor and host you and your family in our home!
