Our son stayed for a week. Everything was as described and the neighborhood was good for him. I wish I could tell you more, but probably the best endorsement was that he asked to stay an additional week. Unfortunately between it being Valentine's and President's Day weekend, they were full and he had to move on. But I think that it speaks for itself that he wanted to extend his stay. Highly recommend!
This is the perfect neighborhood - Quiet, clean, safe. The room was much larger than I could have hoped for with plenty of natural light and a key lock for safety/privacy. I didn't get to meet Suzi & Elvis but they were very accommodating via text message and email. I did meet the Mom & Dad who live on the first floor - Very nice people. If you like to cook (like I do) you will love this spacious, super clean kitchen. There's even separate bins clearly labeled for recycling paper and metals. My only wish is that it was closer to a train station…walking up 48th in the freezing cold was a bit of a challenge, especially since people didn't shovel the sidewalk. But I highly recommend this space for your vacation travels…or even longer term stays.
The apartment was great, it was really nice to have your own place and kitchen, we made dinner every night which was nice. The walk to the subway is more like 15 or 20 minutes, which is a lot when it's 20 degrees outside. But other than that it was really great, the pillows were like bricks so we bought our own and left them there so your welcome to whoever is next for that!
My trip with this experience of using this room went beyond my expectations!! I found no problem staying here. The thing is that it's kinda far from the station.
Suzi and Elvis have a nice place in Queen's just about a 10 minute walk from the Subway like they say. I didn't meet them while I was there but I did meet one of their family members who lives on the first floor. I did have a lot of contact with Suzi and Elvis via email in which they were very accommodating and friendly. They were very nice and allowed us to drop out bags off early so we wouldn't have to carry them around New York all day. The neighborhood is just as they say it is, very safe even at night. I didn't explore Queen's too much but there were plenty of places to eat right around the apartment. The access to the entire upstairs floor is nice especially if the people renting the other two rooms are on opposite schedules like ours were. The check in and check out process is very convenient as well. Overall, it was definitely worth the money.
Excellent hosts. Always available, and very clean space. Hard to imagine a better neighborhood. My 7 year old daughter and I felt safe and welcome at all hours.

We are a young professional couple who live in NYC and rent out rooms and apts through Airbnb. Elvis was born in Croatia and came to NYC as a 7 year old kid. While Suzi was born in Serbia and has been in NYC for a year now. We call Astoria, New York our home and make a great team together. Suzi is a part time student at La Guardia college while Elvis works in real estate. We are down to earth people, who are very family oriented and love meeting people from all over the world. We make sure your stay is a nice and comfortable one. We treat you the way we like to be treated when we travel. We have about 10 bedrooms for rent and 3 apts, all in the New York City area. Our home is your home and we hope to see you soon : ).
