Extremely relaxing, secluded, beautiful and fun! Perfect family and friend house - we get several "can we add a few more days?" requests. Enjoy your wine in the evenings by one of the firepits, and coffee by the fireplace on the patio, or overlooking the pecan orchard. Grill a steak on our huge natural patio, take an easy paddle in the kayaks, or cycle our country roads if you're inclined. See our stellar reviews! The space
Escape to a comfortable, secluded, country "home-away-from-home" two miles east of TX Tollway 130 and just 22 easy miles north of Austin. Imagine having eight private gated acres all to yourself. This comfortable home can sleep up to 8. Gentle, easy kayaking and fishing, firepits, beautiful view of the water, and very ample outdoor lounging space for relaxing and cooking. Hard to put into words the calm feeling you get here. The reviews say a lot.

Sleeping accommodations are: one queen bed in the master, one double bed in a bedroom, two twins in a bedroom, and a Crate and Barrel queen sleeper sofa in the huge den adjoining the master.

Enjoy relaxing views of Berry Creek at the San Gabriel River. Take one of our kayaks for a lazy paddle. And consider a stroll in the pecan orchard down by the creek. Afterwards kick back on one of our two patios. The tranquility of Redbird invites you to indulge yourself with a long, lazy afternoon of conversation or reading and a cat nap or two on our comfy lounge chairs. And we dry your sheets in sunshine and fresh air when weather allows for that unmistakable freshness on the beds.

A "cook's kitchen" has most anything you'll need. Owner Pattie Meyers will be happy to guide you to the best places for fresh produce, meats and wonderful Austin-area artisan-made delicacies.

When you're ready for dinner we have a complete outdoor kitchen with grills, fireplace and dining space. Nothing closes the day better than freshly grilled hill-county victuals served with one of the many local micro brews or good old fashioned Texas iced tea. You'll want to linger as the sun goes down and appreciate all the stars that fill up our big Texas sky.

No place can claim to be a hill country paradise without including all members of the family. We're a pet friendly property so no need to board your dog. We have an outdoor dog run and your well-behaved pooch is welcome in the house as well. 50.00 pet fee per dog, paid upon arrival.

Redbird Farm is the perfect place to bring the whole family for any of the exciting events happening in the Austin Area. Two Step Inn Concert in April is just down the way. Your children can stay here with the nanny or granny while you go to town and enjoy "grown up time" at ACL, SXSW or Formula 1 Racing. And if you'd rather not deal with driving we can help arrange shuttle service.

The Waco/Salado/Georgetown/Austin area is full of interesting and unique shops, historic buildings, great eateries and more. There are plenty of nearby events and destinations to fill your days throughout the year. Georgetown's historical downtown square is considered the prettiest in Texas and it's a short 10 minute drive away. Redbird is a great home-base for discovering all the area has to offer.

Kayak, birdwatch, wander and explore, see the local sights. Downtown square is picture perfect with lots to do - upscale dining, shopping, wine, music! Also great country nightlife very nearby (German biergartens, dance floors and fiddles)

I truly enjoy travel, especially when I can get off the beaten path. I want to see new places, eat new food, and meet new people. I feel I know what travelers want in lodging and experience. 5 things I can't live without: being outdoors on our peaceful property, my grandmother's cast iron skillet, my free-range chickens and their eggs, kayaking on our river and a roaring fire pit surrounded by friends and family. Our style of hosting: relaxed and comfortable - we don't sweat the small stuff! And we love providing attractive and stylish lodging. No granny decor here.
