Riverside has been lovingly decorated with furnishings from local antique/thirft shops. The bedroom hosts a comfortable, queen size bed. The kitchen is outfitted with new appliances, cookware and dishes. There is even a laundry room. The gas fireplace offers a cozy feel in winter and the sundeck is well equipped for good weather with reclining chairs, dining table and an electric grill for you to enjoy. A sofa bed, suitable for one extra guest, is in the living area.
The space
Two fully furnished, one bedroom, loft apartments are located up a stairway in our newly constructed wedding/event barn. Weekend and weekday rentals are available when events are not scheduled.
Located 10 miles from the Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park and just north of Charlottesville, home of the University of Virginia, there is much to see and do. History buffs will enjoy visiting Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, James Madison's Montpelier or any of the Civil War sites in the area. Wine/beer lovers, artisans and antique shoppers will also find plenty to explore. Anyone in search of a peaceful country getaway will be right at home in either the Riverside or Fieldside apartment at Edgewood Farm.
Guest access
Guests are welcome to explore our farm, woodlands and fishing pond. The ground level veranda is a pleasant spot for relaxing and enjoying views of the surrounding mountains, fields and pond.
Other things to note
The barn loft apartments, both Riverside & Fieldside, are located on the second floor, up a significant staircase. Sorry, no elevator is available. Each apartment has a private entrance off a common sitting room at the top of the stairs.
The Cottage is our latest addition located next door to the main farm house. It is on one level with a handicap accessible ramp.

My husband, Scott and I live on our 170 acre farm near the Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park. We are conveniently located 25 miles north of Charlottesville and the University of Virginia. Our farm has been owned by the Winslow family since 1978. It was operated as a cattle farm until 2015, the same year our daughter was married at our brand new "tractor" barn. The barn quickly became known as the, "Barn at Edgewood". We now offer two fully furnished, Barn Loft Apartments, "Riverside" and "Fieldside", when we are not busy with weddings. Our recently renovated Cottage, next to the main house, was added to the venue in 2021. "The Cottage" is equipped with a handicap ramp for travelers or any wedding guest who might be looking for a ground level accommodation. We welcome anyone looking for a quiet, country getaway with beautiful mountain views.
