This was my first time using Airbnb and it could not have been easier! We had wanted to try an apartment rather than an expensive, generic hotel. Plus, we were traveling with our dog, Hector, and hotels are small and not very accommodating After searching different neighborhoods of Montreal we found Katia's in Verdun. What a GEM Verdun is and what a GEM Katia is! She responded right away to our request and we booked it within hours.
We went for a restorative 3 day weekend but this apartment is for families too. It's large, airy, full of light and has wood floors that add to the charm. Everything is super clean and stylish! The bathroom is giant and has a spa tub and separate shower. There is a gourmet kitchen with a door to a terrace and backyard. The outdoor space has a cute table to take your coffee or cocktail!
There is a Metro station 1 block away and street parking out front. She also showed us a parking lot about a block away so you don't have to worry about restrictions.
Katia is a gracious host and met us in the late afternoon when we arrived from Brooklyn. She showed us around the house and walked with us a few blocks around the neighborhood and to the river. She showed us places to ride bikes and swim and told us her favorite places around Montreal and where the markets are. Marche Atwater is very close by bike, metro or car. We went every morning for pastries!
5 stars for Katia's place! She is warm and generous and provided maps and pamphlets with activities. We would love to go back and will be recommending this place to our friends.
