This room was clean and it was exactly what we needed for our two nights in Puna. My mom was visiting me in Oahu and we decided to take a short trip over to Big Island to travel around a little. Star is a lovely lady and my mom couldn't stop raving about the morning yoga/healing class that she took. The owners of the complex where this room is located run regular Yoga workshops and if you stay here it seems like you can participate for a small donation (i think my mom may have donated 10 or 20 dollars)
This place is very close to all the Puna attractions. We had a car to get around with but this is a very laid back part of Hawaii and I have heard that it is not difficult to hitchhike (if necessary). But I think hitchhiking might really slow down your travel time. When we stayed here it was rather rainy and the area is a bit humid. Personally I found this to be part of the charm. Both nights we went to sleep to the peaceful sound of rain and the chirping of frogs. During the day, down by the shore, it was mostly clear and cloudy but I'm guessing this is all luck of the draw.
I feel that this is a gem and that I was very lucky to stay here. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Puna. But, if you are looking for a pristine hotel-like place to stay, this might not be the place for you. Then again, if you are looking for the Hilton, I do not think that Puna is the right part of Hawaii for you.
Great place, very pleasant stay
I love Yoga Oasis! The atmosphere is true Hawaii and the accommodations are very clean and up-to-date. The overall space is great for hanging out for morning tea or taking a walk on the verdant land. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come again.
My sister and I traveled to Yoga Oasis after spending 5 night on the Kona side and the Oasis was such an incredible experience. It is completely in the jungle complete with an orchard, wild pigs and chickens!
The location is great for sightseeing on the east side of the Island as well.
I would highly recommend this place to others who are looking for an authentic and down to earth stay.
