Private spacious double bedroom in house lived in by friendly pair & two chilled-out cats. The house is bright and cheerful and is located in the fun and vibrant Stoneybatter part of town.
By foot, the house is;
20 minutes away from Jervis Street (one of the main shopping areas)
22 minutes away from Temple bar
22 minutes away from O'Connell Street
It's also very easy to get to the city centre by bus or tram. There's a tram stop 5 minutes from the house and the tram ride into the centre takes under 10 minutes.
The Stoneybatter/ Smithfield area itself boasts some great bars and restaurants including Walshes, the Dice Bar and the Cobblestone, Seven Social and Wuff. Other amenities such as Dublin Zoo, Phoenix Park, the Lighthouse (arthouse) Cinema, the National Museum, the Guinness Storehouse, Jameson Distillery and Heuston Station are also right on your doorstep.
I am always happy to share lots of local knowledge if you need any tips for things to do and places to eat or socialize.
If you just feel like kicking back and relaxing, the bedroom has a comfortable armchair and wireless internet. Towels and bedlinen provided. Breakfast included in price. LGBT friendly household.
We have also listed our second guest bedroom on Airbnb. This is a double room so there may be other guests present during your stay.
I love receiving bookings from guests with a full profile (photo and description) as it's very reassuring to know who is coming to stay. We sometimes have guests stay in our second spare room. This means that you might share the bathroom with 2 others.
We have check-in set at 3pm but if you need to check-in sooner, please check with us to see if we can work this into our weekday schedule. Check-out is 11am.
I'm really looking forward to welcoming you to the city and I take a real pride in making sure that you have a wonderful time during your stay.

It was my first trip using AirBnB and it was definetly a great experience.
Richard was a nice and sympathic host, also the two cats were lovely and very welcoming too !
Great experience for a first try.
I spent a month with Gerard and Richard and couldn't have felt more at home. They're incredibly kind and accommodating, and left me wishing I had decided to stay longer. The space itself is indeed bright and cheerful, as they describe it and was a really comfortable place to crack open a book or a beer after a long day exploring Dublin. Gerard is very knowledgeable about the city and always knew where I could get something I needed or explore something interesting. There are lots of great memories that I'll keep from my stay, but the genuine kindness of my hosts will always stick out. I really can't recommend them enough.
Gerard and Richard are two of the most professional and friendly hosts I have had the pleasure of meeting. They provided great advice on making the most of my visit to Dublin, and their easygoing attitude made for a great stay. Their house has all the amenities you could ask for. Public transport to the city center is within a 5-minute walk, and walking to the center takes less than half an hour.
Amazing hosts, comfortable accommodations and a convenient location. Gerard and Richard get my highest recommendations.
Richard was very friendly. The room i stayed was very clean and comfortable.
Sadly I never actually got to meet Gerard as our comings and goings just didn't line up, but Richard was very friendly and gracious. And they were flexible in accommodating my check-in time. Their home is lovely and the room itself was very comfortable with plenty of room for hanging clothes and a view of their garden. The location is a bit far from the city center, but it's a straightforward and easy walk to get to the center. There are also a number of attractions and good places to go (Mulligan's Grocer is a fantastic bar/restaurant) that are closer to the house.
Gerard and Richard provide a generous, help-yourself breakfast array in the mornings, and last, but not least, I adored their two beautiful and friendly cats!
This is the ideal place to stay in Dublin. Gerard is a lovely host and made sure everything was perfect for me. The room and bathroom were both great. Gerard gave me a map as soon as I arrived in Dublin. I followed all of his recommendations (he does live there, after all) and they were all great. This was a perfect place to retreat to after a long day of sightseeing! Also, the cats are the two most well behaved and nice cats you will ever meet. Even if you are not normally a cat person, these cats will surely win you over! I would definitely stay here again.
Gerard, Richard and their adorable cats were very welcoming. I felt right at home in their comfy flat that is conveniently located in a great area within walking distance of everything important. Gerard gave me a map of Dublin and marked several great spots for me to check out. He knows the city very well and is happy to share that knowledge. I’ll definitely check if they’ve got a room available next time I’m in town!
This was my first ever Airbnb experience and I am so happy that it was at Gerard's place. Gerard, Richard and their two little adorable cats made me feel at home from the very first moment. And everything else was perfect as well: the room, the location, the neighbourhood and the breakfast. Looking forward to the next time!
Staying with Gerard and Richard was a pleasure. Their home was warm, inviting and in a great location. I felt completely at home. Hope to visit Dublin again and stay with them again!
Very helpful and welcoming throughout my stay. Gerard gave me some great recommendations on local restaurants/pubs and even arranged a cab for my unexpectedly early return to the airport. Top notch!
