Centrally located in Sonoma Wine Country and just minutes from the Alexander, Dry Creek, and Russian River Valley wineries, the Alexander Valley Lodge is the perfect site for privacy, beauty and relaxation. Start your day on the pool deck, with a hot cup of coffee, using the wireless Internet, and watching the sunrise. End your day with some local wines and cheeses on one of the multiple patios and enjoy the beautiful sunset colors.
A lovely home conveniently located near Heavenly and South Lake Tahoe. The kitchen was big enough that a group of people could cook together and it was relatively well stocked with pots and pans. The hot tub was lovely, although be sure to check that it's turned up when you arrive! The only thing we'd change was that there were several very strong air fresheners, strong enough to be bothersome, so we just found them and unplugged them. Otherwise a great time!
Danielle's bungalow is a spacious house right off of the main strip of South Lake Tahoe. It can house multiple people in its four bedrooms (and fold out couch), and provides the perfect space to enjoy your vacation away from the city life. The hot tub is big enough to handle a good group of people and the living room is both spacious and cozy. I can honestly say that Danielle's space was an ideal place in Tahoe to spend a weekend away, and I would definitely stay there again.
We stayed at AVL. Note this is essentially a large vacation home that can be rented for groups or individuals on a room by room basis. We stayed on a quiet weekend in February so there was only one other room rented which made it feel like we had the place to ourselves. However, in busier times of the year you should be aware that you will cross paths with others and sound seemed to travel fairly easily. So if you're looking for privacy and quiet this may not be the place for you during peak season. That said, its a beautiful location tucked into a hillside with a fantatic view of the valley and comfortable rooms (especially beds) You also won't find a nicer host than Danielle. She made sure to greet us at the property when we arrived and gave us a complimentary upgrade to the Cabana room when the prior guests had overstayed in the Sunroom we reserved. She made sure we felt right at home including encouraging us to use the hot tub, soundsystem, and treated us to wine and cheese in the evening and a hearty breakfast in the morning. She also knows the area well and is full of great suggestions and local deals. I would stay at AVL again especially if I'm looking to rent the entire home.
We had a great stay at Danielle's place. The layout is nice with a cozy sitting room, and the heat and everything worked well. Our little son enjoyed the new snow in the backyard, and we enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen.
We had a great stay at Alexander Valley Lodge. The house and equipment was a little less "fancy" and modern then we expected from the description (BBQ, kitchen, furniture...), but it's really a nice, very private location for all kinds of events. Thank you for hosting us!
This was our first ever airbnb experience and it's hard to imagine it can ever be outdone. Danielle was very helpful and her mother, Donna, whose home we actually staying in was a total delight... It was like meeting an old long time friend. We "uped" to the whole apartment and loved being right on the bay and yet walking to the charming little town. If I lived close, Donna would likely be a great friend. She was great in all ways of hosting. Danielle, your Zin is lovely, thanks!
Great location for work and play. Jacuzzi was enjoyed greatly. New grill on deck was wonderful. Just a side note there is no cable in any of the bedrooms and only VHS only or VHS/DVD players available in bedrooms (some VHS players don't work). We were excited to use the fireplace, but house rule book said was not to be used it was mostly for show, but property manager that lived next door said to use it, it is functional, so we did a few times and it was great. Only 10 channels available on the cable box in living room. House great size for all of us, didn't feel cramped at all. The property manager Jennifer lived next door and she was very nice and helpful, was great to h ave her next door.
The Alexander Lodge was fantastic for our special Winter Solstice gathering. The bedrooms were all very nice with full beds. The grounds were beautiful, a true private serene getaway. The hiking is great, although not as many trails as advertised. Definitely do a full walk thru of the place upon arrival so you know exactly where all the important electrical items are, etc. Overall, a great experience and I would recommend the Alexander Lodge to others.
The reservation was canceled 37 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The space was wonderful! Right on the water easy access to dining and shopping. Super fun to chill on the porch and people watch.
Donna our on site host was a sweet pea!
Can't wait to go back!
