I am delighted that you enjoyed our wonderfully unique location in the heart of the ancient car-free medina, right next to Moulay Idriss. Also that you appreciated the l tasteful renovation of the house. Every millimeter has been done with love! Our terraces are indeed panoramic, 360 degree views over the ancient rooftops and nice and private too. I am very sorry to hear that you found the arrival check-in procedure irksome. There may well be some unofficial guesthouses that do not bother with registration. As an official registered guesthouse, we are obliged to register all guests immediately on arrival, and all our guests are required to have their passports with them. Needless to say the details need to be correctly filled in, as this is our responsibility. The forms have to be taken to the Police first thing every morning, again this is a legal obligation, and in the interest of national security. I do understand that you were tired after a long car trip, and would have preferred to do the check-in at another time. As our guests are all given a keys to the front door, it is, for the comfort and security of other guests and practical reasons, imperative that guests are absolutely famiIiar with how the lock works. If not, they could well find themselves unable to get back into the house. I am sorry that you found this orientation procedure irksome. Rest assured it is essential.
We had a great stay. The house is in a very good location and Ahmed was extremely helpful when we arrived. He gave us instructions on how to get around and was there every day to help us with advice, directions and general information. Said made a great breakfast every morning and was equally helpful. They made us feel at home.
Four of us enjoyed our time at the Riad. Ahmed was helpful on our arrival and made driving our car into the city easier. He waited for us outside the Medina and then walked us back to the Riad. It directed us everywhere we wanted to go. He was friendly and made sure our time there was relaxing. The roof top was beautiful and enjoyed it as much as we good given it is winter and it wasn't warm enough to relax there. The rooms and beds were comfortable and warm. The central area, given the high ceiling was not able to be warmed so in winter don't plan on seating around. We were always out exploring so it was not a huge inconvenience. The breakfasts were wonderful and Saba was a delight.
Hello Adele I am delighted that you had a great stay. And yes,
it is wonderful to book the whole house and to have your own "mini-palace" to yourselves! With the wonderful Moroccan hospitality too! I am glad you appreciate the impossiblity of heating the courtyard area in winter. We do, as you mentioned have the bedrooms nice and toasty! Welcome back anytime Warm regards Sonhild Grey Owner : DAR SIENNA
What a terrific, magical experience! I could not imagine a more spiritual location for this beautiful riad. We really appreciated the compassionate guidance and support from Ahmed, the host, and the breakfast was delicious! The AC was a great touch for a July visit to Fes :) thank you, shukran again for everything! We will certifiably be returning on our next visit to Fes.
