Guest access

The beach is very close. There is a public pool right next to us. There are a variety of beach bar/cafes right on the sand too. The bus runs every 15 minutes into Heraclion. There's a taxi stand close by as well as a wide variety of car rental places too.

Interaction with guests

My family and I love being as helpful as possible with our guests since we understand that it's important to have someone here to give advice and aid. Many guests come to us with questions that range from a good place to eat to travel information (camp sites, day trips to Santorini, etc).

We were 13 days at Matthew's and Agapi's place. Everything was great from the very beginning on til the end of the trip. As Agapi was not around, Matthew welcomed us. He was so kind to bring us from the airport to his place by car as he had some free time that day. 1 week before flying we discussed all issues and he helped us with the car rental (close to his place). Also, as we have a Baby, he even organized a baby seat for the car. The apartment was very clean, it is large and comfortable. Maximum 2 minutes walk to the beach. On the corner with the main street there is a very nice taverna called Petusi. Please do a favor to yourself and go eat there, the quality is really great for a relatively low price and the stone building stile is really something special. The beaches around are all great. From the apartment you are on a central position in Crete and can easily drive to both extreme sides of the island. Night life on the main street is cool with lots of restaurants and souvenir markets. Also, mini-markets where you can buy food are all over the place. When you close the windows you hear absolutely nothing from outside and the air conditioning system in all rooms work perfectly fine (even though the apartment is quite fresh also on hot days). Otherwise in case you let the windows open you will hear the waves on the beach. The only problem with the apartment was: "our vacations finished and we couldn't stay longer on the apartment ). Finally, we recommend Matthew's place to 150%. Stay there and you are not gonna have bad surprises, headaches or regrets.

The experience started off extremely well, Matt offered to pick me up from the airport, and even though the flight was delayed for nearly an hour he was still there to pick me up, he drove me to the apartment gave me a quick historical run down of things that we passed. This was great as it gave me a sort of strategy of things I might want to do. The apartment was spaciou and clean, it was to have a washing machine unfortunately this had been damaged by previous guests however Matt offered to do a load of washing for me which I think seriously goes above and beyond. There was even help securing the use of a rental car when nearly all other rental firms where out of stock. When it was time to leave Matt arranged a taxi for me, I needed a 4.30am pick up and lo and behold the taxi was there as promised. I would not hesitate to stay here again if the opportunity arose. Keep up the exceptional service guys

Mathaios the brother of Agapi is a great host. From the beginning of our communication until the end, he was really nice with us and helped us a lot with whatever we needed .We had a great time at the apartment. Simple accommodation, really clean, many amenities and next to Amoudara beach and a public pool. Thanks a lot and maybe one day we will come back. Maria

My friend and I stayed in Heraklion for two nights, and we had a fantastic time there, in no small part due to Ms. Agapi's accommodations. It was the perfect spot for us: literally steps away from the Beach (which was fantastic, since we didn't have to worry about bringing all our stuff along with us), and super close to the public bus stop, which allowed us easy access to the city centre and back. Agapi's brother Matt was an absolutely wonderful host. He gave us great recommendations for food, made sure we had all the information we needed and made sure we had fresh water to drink upon arrival, which was a very nice touch. The place was all we needed for the time we were there, was clean, and had a great wi-fi connection for connections with friends and family back home. I would definitely recommend to others!

The owner was very nice. The room was okay. The only problem we faced during our short stay the noises coming from the nearby soccer field… even around 3 o´clock in the evening.

Located in Ammodara a 20 minute bus ride from downtown Heraklion, the apartment is well located right next to a fairly decent beach and a few OK restaurants nearby. the apartment is basic but functional, the beds are comfortable and the aircon works well. It could be impoved by a few more pictures on the wall etc because the room is fairly stark. The host Agapi was not available but her brother was, though I did not really have any interaction with him apart for when i arrived. Overall this place is OK without being anything outstanding, would suit a couple with a young child seeking a no-frills break near the beach.

Agapi is kind and very accommodating! The room was clean, had amenities, and mini markets and restaurants are just up the street. The view was BEAUTIFUL! Very close to the water. Bus ride from the airport/ into the heart of Heraklion was 20-25 minutes.
