I did not end up staying at the Yurt. The accommodations were more rustic (no hot water in shower, no internet access, no phone service) than expected and did not meet the needs of business travel for me. The hosts were helpful and accommodating nonetheless.
Response from Catie:
Our directions are clear on how to arrive at our place and Courtney seemed to struggle withGPS and our given directions for some reason . Our description clearly states that there is no wi fi for lap tops in the yurt ( phone only depending on plan ) Only in our screen porch area is there wi fi and again guest please read carefully . So please do be aware before you book and then give a less then stellher review ( may be lack of reading carefully which the onus then falls on the guest ) . THIS is aYURT in the woods ! As we explicitly say on our description please think carefully before you romanticize that ... it is tent with a bed with a wood stove with an outhouse with no wifi for lap tops . Camper / rough it types should book not those needing 100% comfort at all times . We laid this out clearly on our site as we know we may be an attraction to others than camper types from metro areas who may not have a grasp of what is described well on our site . We did have a problem with our heater on Courney's stay which is true and Al fixed right away but we had expected this guest 2 hours earlier than arrival so we had problems with our rendezvous time initially which did not make things run smoothy . Please look at the 99.99 % of our reviews and if this one makes one pause we are OK with that decision as not everyone is meant to spend time in a yurt , use a showerhouse or outhouse . Those who want beauty , quiet , and something more rustic will ( and have ) LOVED their stays ... peace and beauty to all !
This is our second time with Cate and Al and this place is as magical as it was the first time. We had a stove problem the first night and Al responded within minutes and had it fixed the next day. He apologized profusely and called to let us know it was fixed. We thoroughly enjo…
Catie and Al's yurt retreat is a charming place to stay. The yurt bedroom is well-appointed, the greenhouse shower is a divine place to enjoy, the library is cozy and the fire pit is a great place to hang out, chatting in the woods. It was a comfortable and very memorable visit!…
