The Space

This is a very cozy lovely and clean house that is full of lights and within 5 mins walk to Max train that takes you to everywhere in Portland within 20 mins, 5 mins' drive to Tektronix, 7 mins' drive to Nike World Headquarter and 20 mins' drive to Intel and 15 mins' drive to the biggest upscale shopping center : Washington Square. Within 2 mins, you can get to Highway 217 but you can't hear any highway noise from my house. There are buses nearby taking you everywhere in Portland too. This area is like an oasis tucked in the city.

It's also within walking distance, you can access Chinese, Japanese, Mexican and all kinds of restaurants and Starbucks and grocery stores like Trader Joe's, New Seasons, Winco and Fred Meyer. There is a huge park in front of the house with tennis and basketball courts, playground and walking tracks. So it's a child/family friendly environment. I rent out the 1-bed room that fits up to 2 people with a queen size bed, if you want to add one more people that sleeps on the carpet floor, please add $30/night/person. You have your own full bath room and can use my kitchen. Please prepare your own ingredients. Guest(s) stay 5 or more days can use wash machine/dryer. Full kitchen with gas stoves, microwave and oven.

It's super convenient to come from and go to airport. Just buy the adult 2-hour all zones ticket which is $2.4/person and take the red or blue Max train(direction Hillsboro) from airport and get off at Beaverton Town Center Station. Most of the time, Red line's final destination is this station. It takes an exact 1 hour to and from airport from this station. I also can rent you my 2 bikes ($5/day/bike) to cruise around.

Free parking on street in front of my house.

  • Jean's house was in a nice, quiet neighborhood and a great location for my trip's purposes. It was conveniently located near the Beaverton TC stop which was important for me. My room and bathroom were adequate and simple. There is no TV in the bedroom. Jean was nice and helpful. She met me at the train stop when I arrived so I would know how to get around better. She also dropped me off at the stop when I left which was very thoughtful. If I needed to borrow certain items like tupperware to pack my lunch or leftovers, all I had to do was ask. One thing I would mention is that she has incense in her Buddhist shrine right next to the guest room, in case you have a sensitivity. She also has 2 young children who are there part of the time, but they are well behaved and sweet.

  • Jean has a lovely home in Portland area facing a great kid-friendly park. The stay was short and pleasant. I recommend Jean's home for any traveler needing a quiet, clean room in her part of Portland. I look forward to visiting again.

About
Hi there! My name is Jean. I've almost traveled around the world through backpacking and I've got a lot of kind help from people I didn't even know, when I discovered AirBnB, I'm so thrilled that I find a way to accommodate travelers on the road making them feel home. I speak English, Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese. I used to be able to speak good French, but now I'm losing it. As a guest, I respect my host and their rules, so I expect you do too. Aside from that, let's enjoy the journey and have some good laughs!
