About This Listing
A totaly renewed apartment in the pedestrian area of Montorgueuil (Paris very center)- Perfect for a visit of Paris : close to Centre Pompidou, the Louvre, Notre Dame.... Fully furnished for 4 persons - very quiet (faces a courtyard).
Host is actually an agency renting on behalf of someone else so they give you a contract upon arrival (no issue). The agent was 15 minutes late but nice and showed briefly around the place.
The apartment is nice, clean and spacious enough. The layout however is terrible, entry on the kitchen and the apartment is one-way flow (bathroom -> kitchen -> bedroom -> living room) so you have to walk through the bedroom to bring food from the kitchen to the living room where you have to eat. Also note the bathroom is very very tiny (as in I had to walk sideways to not hurt myself).
the bed is not very thick and makes noises, should be updated. As described there is no internet in the apartment which is a shame considering it costs only 30 euros per month in France for tv, internet and phone.
The neighborhood is very nice with lots of options to eat, and the apartment is not facing the street so is very quiet.
Overall it is a good place, but they should invest a little bit to upgrade the bed, and add internet.
One last thing, there is a washer but the "dryer" is a hanger, there is no drying machine.
Everything was well organized, Laurent has been very reactive and answered to all my questions before leaving in a while. The apt is very good, cleaned and perfect for three, bathroom is a little small but fine. The best of the the apt is the location, in a fantastic pedestrian street full of nice restaurants and very close to Les Halles. A very positive experience.
There were a few bumps in the road, but if they were corrected, this would be perfect.
Firstly, we were not told that we needed to put a deposit of 200 Euro on credit card in case of any damage. This should be stated on the airbnb page so that people will know before they book.
Second thing is that I emailed the Laurent 9 hours before we were due to arrive and when we did, he was no where to be found. I think the frustrating part is that we didn't have a phone to call him so we had to walk up and down the street until we were able to find a pay phone or a shop owner to let us use the phone. This wasted a lot of our time and we were very tired from the train ride.
Other than these 2 things, the apartment is spacious and the location is perfect. There are a lot of shops downstairs such as cafes, bakeries, wine shops, beauty supplies, grocery stores and etc.
We (4 ladies) did not finish off with a nice experience at Laurent's accommodation.
When we first arrived he asked us for our credit card for a 200 euro security deposit even tho it was not stated in his advertisement with airbnb. He said he had never had to charge anyone before.
6 days after we left his apartment he emailed me accusing us of breaking and throwing away his clothes hanger which was UNTRUE. We never broke or threw away his hanger. He charged us 20 euro for it.
We felt he was not honest and trustworthy. We would not recommend his apartments to anyone.
