Check in is flexible, but I need to mention that we both work till 5pm during the week, so I am asking for you to be flexible as well with checking is. Checking out is not the issue, you can stay longer if needed in the case we don't have anyone checking in the same day or day after. We can also mail you the key to your address and you can check in whenever you get there in the case we are not able to meet you on desired time.
We absolutely love Shadyside. The best area in Pittsburgh. Check out our recommendations for nearby stores, restaurants and bars under Map tab :)
The access to bus lines is within two blocks, nearest bus station S Negley and Fifth Ave, express busway is three blocks away (easy and fast access to downtown).
Make yourself at home, but dont have other people staying in the apartment without notifying us. Please respect your neighbors.
Our stay went without a hitch. We had no trouble finding the address. Kat & Marko had the key ready for us, & the rest of the weekend was perfect. The apt's location couldn't be better. We walked to restaurants on Walnut St. & the Carnegie Museums in Oakland. Really enjoyed the area's wide array of architecture during our walks. The apt itself was cozy & outfitted with everything we needed. Returning the key was a breeze. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!
The location was perfect as it was walking distance from the shadyside bars, shopping, and restaurants. The place itself felt a little smaller than what we expected from the photos, but it was just right for the time we stayed. The stairs going up to the apartment had a really foul smell and was not lit in any way, but Kat & Marko's space was clean!
The neighborhood was (email hidden)rfect walking distance to restaurants, shopping and Carnegie Melon.
Nice place to work if needed as well.
Kat and Marko were available and apt was clean and comfortable.
Highly recommend this spot to anyone needing a place to stay in Pittsburgh.
Me and my wife stayed at Kat and Marko's apartment for about 2 months.
The apartment is exactly as described and has a great location:
* Near many restaurants and shops;
* Has many public transportation options;
* Easy to get to the CMU and Pitt universities (it is located at CMU's shuttle route).
The hosts were great to work with, always answering all questions very quickly.
Additionally, I had to leave Pittsburgh earlier than I had expected and the hosts waived our end date alteration fee.
Easy to work with, friendly and accommodating. Comfortable walk-up apartment a block from a very upscale street full of high-end shops, bistros, bakeries, etc. Plenty of space for one or two and a couch if there are three.
Clean, convenient and comfortable!
We stayed in Kat and Marko's apartment for a weekend, arriving on Friday afternoon and leaving early Sunday morning. Kat was friendly and personable upon check-in, and left clear instructions for checkout.
I'm sure most folks will like the place - it's in an old building, and apartment, but with almost everything you might need for a short stay in Pittsburgh. The building is located in a nice part of Pittsburgh - very central for people dealing with the universities or the hospitals. Parking was easy to find on the street, but I gather this would be a problem for someone during the week because of permits.
There was one issue, for us, at least - at some point during the weekend, the stairwell started to reek of urine. Obviously not the hosts' fault, but still an odd occurrence.
I guess I would recommend the place. Not the best value compared to what else is out there, but the best choice we had for the weekend we were traveling.
Our experience with Kat & Marco was very good! They always answered promptly all our questions and were very nice nd discrete. They also sent us the keys of the apartment in our hotel in nyc before our arrival in Pittsburgh. The apartment was fine as in the pictures and the location was great with many shops and pubs in the nearby. We suggest with no doubts :-) R & P
