  • We were INCREDIBLY happy with our stay here and the assistance and responsiveness from Nadja, the onsite caretaker, of the property. We stayed here 8 nights with our 11 month old son. We were concerned about how safe and clean the property would be for him, especially since he is walking (if you can call it that). We were also concerned the property wouldn't be near restaurants, public transit (to the Manuel A national park or Quepos), or super markets. We had nothing to be concerned about!

First, the property is amazing - beautiful, serene, clean, with hidden surprises and very nice finishes. We were very happy staying here. The house cleaner was fantastic. Monkeys visited us on property, although I heard this is not necessarily a frequent occurrence. The pool is on the smaller side, but FANTASTIC and with only three units and people being gone different days, it was never a problem. You can easily walk to nearby restaurants, supermarket, and a bus to get you to either Manuel A national park or Quepos quite easily and I believe for less than a buck per person.

Nadja was wonderful - she was super responsive to emails before we arrived and very helpful during our trip. Frankly, I was concerned that onsite caretaker might feel a bit too intrusive, but this definitely was not the case. She was a wonderful resource.

My only advice to you is to book the resort through the Villa's website to save some $$.

    Pura Vida!

  • The "Hidden Oasis" is aptly named. Admittedly, we were a little concerned on our approach. The side street is unattractive and the church under construction in front of the unit is an eye sore. However, once the security gate opened we entered into a true oasis. We were put in the ground floor unit consisting of two spacious and separate bedrooms a very comfy sitting area and spacious modern bathroom. The house was roomy with pleasant décor and beautiful wooden furniture. Outside the unit you are surrounded by beautiful vegetation throughout which was well maintained. The pool was fabulously constructed with a walk in shallow end (no stairs) that was perfect for our 6 and 8 year olds and also nice to just lie down and relax in. In addition, there is a large area with BBQ, table and hammocks for relaxing. The unit is walking distance to a grocery store and a short drive to some fun restaurants and the beaches. We were also told by many before arriving that the beaches are not safe at night so we were quite happy to be up in the town. We thought the local Falafal Bar was very good and our kids had a great time at the El Avion restaurant as well as the "train" restaurant down the way.

Nadja the building manager, was a huge help and very available for all our questions and needs. If there is any negative, (and it was not for us as we knew what we were getting) it's that the unit is not located on the ocean side and therefore provides no view of the ocean (though there is a viewing tower) and presently is adjacent to church construction.

We would highly recommend this unit for those wanting to stay in town.

  • We loved every minute at this place and can highly recommend it. The apartments look great, are well equipped and furnished with love. Nadia the concierge made us feel like home. Thank you for a wonderful time! Our daughter loved the kids friendly pool best!

  • This is paradise! The place is clean and spacious. The outdoor dining table and chairs are so exotic. Bathroom is custom and spacious, a far cry from the cheap IKEA/Home Depot prefab. Garden is cleverly designed. I use their garden picture as my wallpaper now.

Nadja is super nice and attentive. She is usually up very early to sweep the grounds. She showed us the way to Los Campsinos Reserve which was worthy of your time. The forest looks primitive. Feels like Jurassic Park all over again. She also helped us book a tour to the mangroves. We went to Manuel Antonio National Park ourselves.

We used the kitchen everyday. Vilma kept the place clean the whole time.

Look no further. This is the place you want to be!

  • The Secret Garden Hidden Oasis is just amazing! It comes with my personal highest recommendation. We booked this last minute when we realized our first hotel in Quepos was not what we wanted at all. Niclas was very accommodating for our quick booking and responded quickly, which is exactly what we needed.

Nadja was on site prepping everything for us including the grill, the hammocks, the pool and all f the other amenities. It really is your little own personal paradise. We almost didn't want to leave to go to the beach! The hidden garden was a great place to come and relax after a day in the sun. Nadja even had boogie boards to use for free and a dvd selection if we wanted to watch a movie. She is not always on site (which is actually nice to have the place to yourselves) but when she was, she helped us get more info on a tour and also helped arrange for a local shop to deliver a few things to us so we didn't have to take the bus down to Quepos.

Overall a beautiful yard, fast internet, very clean, very safe house with air conditioning! We would stay here again without thinking twice!

  • We had a lovely stay at Villa Oasis. The condo was very clean, highly organized and private. One of the best things about the location is that the public bus into town is just around the corner. And a well stocked grocery store is just up the road, within an easy walk. And then you get back to the Villa and it truly feels like an oasis.

Our 12 year old daughter adored the pool, which was warm and very clean. Since we're from Maine, USA, any water that is warm is a heavenly gift! And the hammocks in the pagoda area were great to relax in after dinner. Bugs were minimal.

Our last day, while hanging by the pool, a group of spider monkeys scurried over the villa, chattering, eating fruit and peering at us. They were right above our heads.

Anyways, thank you Nadja. You were a great hostess and I recommend Villa Oasis to anyone who wants to experience luxury along with easy access to Manuel Antonio and Quepos.

About
Niclas, born in Sweden, felt at an early age the urge to explore the world. Traveling extensively in Europe prior to turning 20, he then took his backpack and left for Barbados and the Caribbean Islands, and continued on to Bali and Indonesia for months at a time. A few years later he got a job in the music industry, working for the legendary rock band Metallica, which made him move to the band's home base of San Francisco. Working closely with the band during their concert tours, introduced him to every part of the world; the perfect combination for his passion for Travel & Music. After 10 years of traveling all over the world, he decided to retire from touring and focus on family life. After a visit to Costa Rica, he felt Costa Rica was the perfect place to move to. "It almost felt like Sweden in that it was very safe, with wonderful people, a great place for children to grow up in. But unlike Sweden, there is no cold dark winter to endure." It became obvious that he had finally found his "endless summer", where he could surf everyday and enjoy the relaxed pace of life that the Costa Ricans are so famous for. His wife Heather is American, from Virginia. She is a teacher who has extensive experience working with non profit organizations and enjoys very much assisting local aid organizations in teaching English to underprivileged women and children. The family has lived in Costa Rica now for 8 years, including their four children; Zakkary, Travis, Cruz and Karisma.
