The Space

Hi there!

This is a private room in a 2 bedroom apt in Greenpoint. The room has 4 separate windows which let in plenty of light and comes furnished with a queen size bed, a night tables, a closet, and a large mirror. There is an ac for the summer.

Fresh linens and towels are available in the closet. There is a Keurig coffee and microwave in the kitchen in addition to four burner stove and oven.

The room is next to the living room which has two larger sitting chairs, a daybed, coffee table, a skylight, and two bookshelves filled with various books (fiction, history, sociology, philosophy, etc).

The main entrance gives to the kitchen which is fully stocked for cooking and has its own skylight. Next o the kitchen is a hallway which leads to the bathroom and the other bedroom. .

Bathroom is both shower and bath capable with very nice lighting and water pressure. Recently remodeled, it has all new finishing.

Guest Access

Guest will have access to the almost the entire apt (not my roommates bedroom). There is also laundry in the building which is available 24/7.

Interaction with Guests

I'll be out of two the two weeks I am opening up my space, so you will not have me around, but my roommate Dani is perfectly personable person and I'll be more than happy to offer advice on the city.

The Neighborhood

The area has plenty of bars, cafes, delis, and supermarkets. Personal close by recommendations include One Stop Beer Shop, Brooklyn Standard, and Pie Corps. McGolrick Park is a few blocks away and McCarren just a little further after.

Getting around

It is located between the L Graham stop and G Nassau stop. The L Bedford stop is also accessible if you'd like a slightly longer walk through MacCarren park. Its kind of beautiful on a nice day.

The Morgan exit from the BQE is really close by so travel from JFK or LGA is super convenient.

  • Simply put, the place is wonderful. the greenpoint area is awonderful and quiet hub to explore nyc. Kriss is a very welcoming guy - we didn't get to hang out too much because we had a tight schedule and were mostly out. The room is great - its cheap, clean, cozy and comfy. The area itself is close to delis, cafes and a park. This was our first airbnb experience and kriss has set a very high bar. Thank you Kriss!

  • We (a couple aged over 50) spent 5 days at Kriss’s place.
His opinion: liked it immensely. Nice neighborhood. Nearby a regular bus service to the metro. Manhattan around the corner – so to speak. Nice room. Nice books and a house for ourselves, because Kriss was practically never at home. As a typical New Yorker he is outside the house always busy with work, study and so on.
Her opinion: as above. But it took some time to find out where to find the right bus service. The neighborhood is quiet. No doubt : good value for money!
Kriss we had a very nice stay at your place in Brooklyn (formerly known as Breukelen).
Greetings from Amsterdam (not so far from Breukelen)

  • Kriss was a very great host. He told us where we could go and spend our day in NYC, he even called a Taxi for us, when we got back to the airport. We've only spend one night at his apartment, but I felt way better than I could feel in a hotel. The neighbourhood is very nice and felt safe to us and even if the way to the subway takes fifteen minutes it's a pretty nice walk.
The room was clean and the style of the apartment is awesome!
Thank you for everything Kriss. I hope we can come back for a longer time.

  • First and amazing time in NYC ! Kriss is a very friendly host, being at his place is like being home. Highly recommended !
Also the neighborhood is very nice, with parks, a lot of good restaurants (I loved the indonesian one) and cute boutique.
Thank you Kriss for everything, and for the amazing breakfasts we shared ! :)

  • Kriss was an attentive and personable host who is a native of New York and was knowledgeable about all things Brooklyn and New York. The area is safe and quiet yet within walking distance from food, drinks and parks. The room is spacious, clean linens and towels were provided and great value compared to other spaces in New York.

  • Kriss was very nice, communicative and hospitable. Simple, clean accommodation at a fair price. Highly recommend if you're keen to visit Williamsburg or Greenpoint.

Hi, I'm Kriss, recently graduated from NYU with a study in Cultural Production, Media theory, and questions of State Legitimacy in Peru. I'm a New York native but have lived for years alternating between Mexico, Peru, and NYC. I like reading, exploring overlooked spots in cities, meeting strangers, hunting for books, seeing what can discovered in a city, and doing things on a whim when I can. I graduated this spring and have been known to walk up to a train or bus station and just hope on the next thing leaving town to see where I end up. I hope to re-visit some of the cities I fell in love with, visit cities that have alluded me so far, and see where I fall in between.
