Old Montreal is, as you probably guessed it, the old part of Montreal. It is where the city was born, in fact it's the starting point of many things. Very few of the early buildings (mid 1600) remain, many fires have swept through old Montreal in the early days, but there's still a lot of buildings from different eras. There's a large variety of buildings, of different styles and functions, from public buildings (the old courts, city hall, etc) to more commercial buildings (the old stock exchange, board of trade, etc). Most of the buildings' are from the 17th century to early 20th century, although there are some modern buildings. Those different buildings in old Montreal really represent the evolution of the city.
There are many interesting things to do, mostly visiting museums and historical buildings, walking around and taking in the sights (and eating...). Many family activities take place in the old port : special exhibitions, biking, rollerblading, etc. Most of the activities are held at the King Edward pier in the old port. The Jacques-Cartier pier is mostly used for some special events, there's also a place for lunch and an information desk.
Old Montreal can get very crowded and very touristy during the summer since this part of town is full of tourists, so if you are the type of visitor that want to stay away from the other tourists, better visit old Montreal in the off season or early in the day because it's worth it. But there isn't much going on outside the tourism season (between October and April) so you won't see many people walking in the streets. During the off season, the museums are still open as are the most restaurants and bars (but with limited hours) and there are activities that you can do just during the winter (like skating in the old port for instance).

Clean apt in a safe building with doorman. Beautiful kitchen with top of the line appliances, spacious living room with comfy couch, and a bedroom that is private and cozy.
Great location near the action: 4 minute walk to subway and a 10 min walk to Old Montreal.
Hakim was very responsive throughout the stay and answered all questions promptly. Would stay again!
Nice apartment, across the road from the congress; clean and have almost all whet you'll need for a short/medium term stay (except of toilet paper)
Apartment was well-maintained and very convenient to all locations in Montreal. Hakim was very responsive to all queries, all in all an excellent experience!
Hakim is really nice person, he was with me in contact all the time and he meet me personally at the first day I came
It was really great to stay in Hakim place. well furnished, clean and great location.
I would really prefer to stay again in same place in next visit.
Hakim is a very friendly host and the apartment is modern, well equipped and superbly located. It would be even better if the bedroom blinds blocked the outside light a bit better.
Hakim was great to work with, and the space was really wonderful. Great location too!
I stayed at the apartment for a week while I attended a conference at the Palais de Congress. I really enjoyed it and would wholeheartedly recommend it.
Location: Not really old Montreal - it's right next to the Palais de Congress, about 5 minute walk to Old Montreal. But for me it was perfect.
Building: brand new high-rise with doorman. The rooftop pool was not open during my stay, but I saw them work on it, so it probably will be working during the summer.
Apartment: Spacious, clean, 100% furnished from IKEA. WiFi worked great.
Owner: Hakim was very friendly and the whole renting/check-in/check-out process was smooth.
The only difficulty I had was that the apartment did not have many necessary household items (bath soap, enough toilet paper, dishwasher and laundry detergents, etc.) Having a busy schedule, it was difficult to find time to shop for all those items and I left much of what I bought for the next guests. But I realize it's not a hotel.
In summary, it was a great place to stay for much cheaper than what a comparable room/suite in a hotel wood cost. Highly recommended!
Great apartment in a fabulous neighborhood!
The condo was immaculate. It is very new and modern. Its location is close to everything! Chinatown, Old Montreal, Downtown are all within walking distance. The Metro is across the street in the Palais de Congres (Convention Centre). The building has a 24hr. concierge, there is a gym, & overall the building has a good vibe. There is a Starbucks less than 5mins walk away, great restaurants nearby too. WiFi in the suite too. I will definitely return next time in Montreal.
