The Palmwood Inn is perched on the ridge of a four acre estate overlooking the peaceful Moloa'a Valley located on Kauai's northeastern coastline. The newly constructed Inn inspired by Japan's mountain Ryokans (country inns) offers the discerning traveler an environment with the principals of asian design that blends and harmonizes with the beauty of its natural surroundings. It is an aesthetes' retreat.
The Inn is elegantly and stylishly appointed. Sumptuous leather and palmwood imported from Fiji's Pacific Green, furnish the Inn. Heavenly tempur-pedic mattresses adorned in fine pristine linens will have you melt in comfort.
Awaken to a glorious morning, joining your host and fellow guests on the main floor of the Inn for a cup of Kona Coffee and delicious pineapple coconut scones. You might prefer scrambled egg whites with a sprinkle of fresh basil and melt in your mouth fresh local mangoes. It is strange, but the island has you craving for healthier and lighter food choices. Our gourmet breakfasts are prepared with locally sourced ingredients, consciences of providing our guests with nutritious, healthy fare that is not only delicious but socially responsible. We are fortunate on the North Shore to be surrounded by Organic small farms. Whether it is our Moloaa coffee, chocolates from pod to bar, macadamia nuts or beautifully crafted artisan goat cheese. You won't want to miss the farmers market in Hanalei, sumptuous offerings in the most idyllic island setting.
The West Room has its own private walkway and entry doors and does not share any common walls with other rooms.
The room has a Queen size tempurpedic bed, vaulted ceiling, french doors and windows surrounding the circular room. The en-suite bath and shower of travertine and cherry wood cabinetry.
French doors lead to additional living space on a tropical wood deck with sails overhead, appointed with comfy loungers and two person private hot tub nestled in your lush garden. The deck also has a beautiful water feature of five small falls and creek which wraps around the outdoor lava rock shower.
Additionally for the guest use is our outdoor pavilion with BBQ and grill (everything you need to cook simple fresh meals) and a media pavilion with a big screen.
Explore the island. Kauai is a unique place and those fortunate enough to experience the island recognize its infinite beauty, and the spirit it evokes.
The Inn is also a place to enjoy the day. Perhaps a massage on your private deck, or lounge in the hammock with spectacular views of the dramatic mountains with a book you've been yearning to enjoy.
Take a stroll to Moloa'a Bay, a crescent golden sand beach with turquoise waters is just down a meandering tropical country road (1.25 miles). Snorkel in our healthy reefs with vibrant underwater life. This bay has many faces and moods depending on the season and the day, always beautiful.
Enjoy the evening "talking story" as they call it on island, with adventures of your day with fellow guests. Throw on the fresh catch of the day you couldn't resist picking up from Kilauea Fish Market on the outdoor grill. How about some organic greens with edible flowers on the side from the Inn's garden, and of course a glass of that great bottle of wine you stumbled on at the local market. Finish off the evening encircled by a stream and falls, star gazing in your private outdoor lava rock shower.
Kilauea, Hanalei, Princeville and Kappa are all towns easily accessible just a beautiful drive away for restaurants and eateries of every taste and mood.
Complimentary breakfast for two served daily. Other complimentary amenities include wireless internet, beach towels and chairs, mats, coolers, snorkel gear, and a guidebook to Kauai. (If you don't wish to have breakfast, the room rate is 10% reduced.)
**Hawaii lodging taxes of 13.5% NOT included
We look forward to sharing our aloha with you at The Palmwood, a Luxury Boutique Inn.
Beautiful, private accommodations with easy access to Kilauea, the nearest town. Breakfast prepared by Eddi/Maxine was always so delicious, local, and was a great start to each day!
The west room's outdoor shower amongst ferns, a beautiful fountain, and lava rock was a great experience as well. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a more private, luxurious trip that is a bit removed from the main tourist thoroughfares.
