Bright and sunny apartment perfect for a family or close friends. I live in an amazing neighborhood right by the parks and Hudson River. It's far enough away to get a good night sleep, but when you wake up, you can be downtown in half an hour.

Bright and sunny apartment perfect for a family or close friends. I live in an amazing neighborhood right by the parks and Hudson River. It's far enough away to get a good night sleep, but when you wake up, you can be downtown in half an hour.

The Space

This is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom accommodation. There are 2 queen beds, so it fits 4 people with 2 to a bed.
The A train is one block away, and the 1 local is 3 blocks up Broadway. Both trains will get you downtown in 30-45 minutes. Central Park is 15 minutes away, The Upper West Side is 20 minutes away. I used to work in Greenwich Village, and it take me between 30-45 minutes to get to the West 4th stop on the A train.

The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances, spices, and utensils. You are welcome to anything in the fridge, but I am a vegetarian, so I keep soy milk, veggies, and soy meat in the fridge. Don't worry, I have no problem with you purchasing and cooking meat.

The neighborhood is safe and comfortable. The park across the street is beautiful. I HIGHLY recommend taking a stroll through the park. The gardens are amazing, and the Cloisters is breathtaking. There is a large family friendly playground at Broadway and Dyckman. The place is right by Hudson River and the GWB. The views in the park are amazing!

It has one bedroom with a door, and the other bedroom is my living room sectioned off with bookcases and curtains. The bathroom is accessible by walking through the first main bedroom. You can get a sense of how everything works by looking at the photos. The place is great for families or close friends.

You will love (email hidden) for your trip. I love to give tips and advice for things to do so please, ask me anything! Thanks for looking!

Guest Access

The whole apartment except for items in my dressers and closets. Please respect my privacy and keep those places closed.

Interaction with Guests

I'm generally available via email, text or phone. I ask all international guests to either message me on Airbnb or download "WhatsApp" messager for smart phones. It allows people to text for free with WiFi access.

The Neighborhood

The parks :) I also love that I know most of my neighbors. I wait tables at a local hangout, and I see the same faces almost everyday. Ft. George has a very small town feel to it with all the lovely Manhattan conveniences.

Getting around

The A express train is around the corner and will take you downtown in 20-30 minutes. The 1 local train is 3-4 blocks away and is the favorite for guests studying at Columbia and City College.

Other Things to Note

There are only a handful of restaurants on Broadway, so you have to walk up to Dyckman St. or Ft. Washington (both about 10-15 minute walk) for a sit down place. Check out the Guidebook for specifics. Otherwise, look to (website hidden) or (website hidden) for delivery

Check In
  • Kaila was very responsive and accommodating. Her apartment was comfortable and equipped with everything necessary for an enjoyable stay. She even had a cute little snack tray in the second sleeping area. Nice touch. Thanks, Kaila!

  • Kaila (email hidden) and really made sure that we were confortable in her appartment. The subway was just a 2 minutes walk away and although the appartment may seem far from midtown on the map, we could make it to times square in less than 25 minutes.
Thank you for the great week-end!

  • I grew up in the area, but have not been back in years.. For anyone wanting the full N.YC. "UPTOWN" experience. With a Bodega just downstairs..(with amazing Puerto Rican food, i think we gained 2lbs..eating there), 2 clubs, 6 bars (we walked up to The Locksmith Burger and Wine Bar) to watch the Mayweather fight with the locals...and before we knew it.....we went from 2 good friends...to 8 good friends...(and we never even picked up a drink)...We got our morning exercise on the 300 stairs just up the block...which apparently is very popular because i felt like i (email hidden)ere were people doing all kinds of exercises and stair climbing. As far as Kaila and her Condo, both were everything I could have asked for. Kaila is the "Around The Way Girl" that you always wanted to be friends with!! She keeps her condo neat and clean, we did not want for anything. The building was silent....and for you out of towners....or first timers....you really get the NY vibe once you take a shower by the window and hear all of the city sounds!! Great Job Kaila!! P.S. for those of you who may want to watch TV, there is a TV however, there arent any channels. Dont fret....we were able to get YOUTUBE on it....and we could watch just about anything we wanted...fittingly....we chose THE JEFFERSONS....!!!

  • Everything was fine and we enjoyed our stay at Kaila's appartment very much. Kaila kindly helped us out with recommendations for our trip to New York City.

  • We had an excellent stay at Kaila's apartment. She was very flexible, and allowed us to check in early which was very gracious, and greatly appreciated given we had traveled five hours by car with a four year old. The beds were comfy, the apartment was clean and pleasant, and Kaila was very kind. We were so happy to be staying in the same neighborhood as our extended family, and the location was wonderful. We would certainly stay at Kaila's again.

  • Kaila is very hospitable and the apartment is very cute; even if it is not located in the city centre, you can reach downtown in 20/30 minutes.

  • The apartment is really nice, fully equipped! Although it is not exactly in the city center, the subway only takes like 20-30 minutes to the main attractions, and the subway station is just around the corner! Kaila was very kind and helpful! We really enjoyed our stay!

  • It was the first time I've been in NYC and I really enjoyed this cozy flat. Kaila was very kind and she explained everything cuz me and my friends didn't know where to go first in this big city. She gave us a lot of good helpful booklets and directions to almost every place in new york. And she has very nice dog ) my girl really liked her! We spent very good time in New York! Thank you Kaila! )

  • Kaila is very friendly and meeting up with her was easily arranged. The apartment is very close to the subway station and the ride took about 20-30 minutes from Midtown. We stayed with 4 people for about one week and the apartment was just perfect, everything was very clean and the two bedrooms were big enough to accomodate all of us. Also there's a grocery store right next to the apartment where you can buy breakfast cereals and save some money compared to having breakfast in town. All in all we had an amazing visit to New York, thank you Kaila!

  • The most important advantage of this apartment is good location. It is far from the airport, but close to most attractions. Having this in mind, the price is not high and that's why we have decided to take this apartment.
It has two bedrooms, but in none of them you will have privacy. Why? Because you need to pass through the one with the door to reach the bathroom, and the other one has only a curtain which divides it from the kitchen and the entrance hall. The bathroom isn't in the photos because you wouldn't like it. The whole apartment could be cleaner, and especially the fridge. I didn't have impression that the fridge has ever been cleaned. It was stinky, dirty and with a lot of food in it, some of which was spoiled. Besides, there are a lot of bugs everywhere in the apartment. Not big ones, fortunately. I don't blame Kaila for bugs, she obviously tries to keep them away since she has some buzzing and blinking tools on the walls. Also, the linen and the pillows didn' t seem to be clean (although they probably were), so we hardly used any of it. Another thing I didn't like are shoes on the shelves. And, there isn't a single chair in the apartment and there isn't any space to put your clothes on, except some shelves in the room with curtains. My final conclusion is that if you don't mind all these facts, then this apartment is good for you and I recommend it. However, my friends and I wouldn't use it again.
