What a beautiful place to stay. We had a great time. Everything you could need is right hear. Katie was great to work with. We hope to be back before too much time passes.

Katie is an amazing host and Golfito is a friendly, relaxed and beautiful place to stay in. Her properties are are very well kept, in a great location and full of personality. We heard some great stories, saw a huge leatherback turtle (Katie lured it back in sight using watermelon rinds) and had a great time on the bay in her kayak.

Katie was incredibly communicative and very helpful during our stay in Golfito. This casita is fantastic! The view over the marina was incredible to wake up to every morning, the bed was comfortable, the AC was kickin' cold, and the home was top notch clean, spacious, and comfortable. Will definitely return.

My wife and I just spent three comfortable days at Katie's very nice one bdrm flat overlooking the Banana Bay Marina, and the bay of Golfito. Katie was out of town, so her partner, Tim, took care of us. He was very accommodating. He even allowed us to borrow a two person kayak, which was the highlight of the trip. Had a blast, plus a few beers across the bay at where locals call the pig bar, just because their is a pig pen in the back. The Banana Bay Marina is well worth the Happy Hour, especially if Blanca is your waitress. Breakfasts are great, too. We highly recommend this, which very well could be the best place to stay in Golfito. Very safe!

Katie and her "biz partner" Tim were very helpful in orienting us to Golfito. We had initially reserved the smallest unit, but got an upgrade for a few dollars more, due to off season. We had the medium size of 3 of Katie's apartments. It had a breathtaking view of Golfito Bay from a large private deck. There was a large living room with TV and reliable WiFi. The bedroom had an a/c unit and fans throughout. The full kitchen was stocked with pots and pans and dishware We bought fish right off the dock and cooked it two nights out of the , by grading the 3 we were there. They lent us a two person kayak, which we paddle to an island in the bay where we could swim. The only struggle was the pathway and steps up to the unit, which can't be avoided if you live on a hill. They minimized the steepness by grading the path and small steps. A GREAT experience!

Katie Duncan arrived to Costa Rica while traveling aboard the sailing vessel 'Caribbee', pleasure cruising with Captain Tim Leachman. With no previous thought to making a home abroad or settling permanently outside their home town of Santa Barbara, California, their cruise down the pacific coast was only meant to be a short escape - a season of fun on the ocean. But something magical happened during those first weeks at anchor in the port town of Golfito . The beautifully calm natural harbor, the verdant green and fantastical sounds of the surrounding jungle, the welcoming bustle of a quaint port town on shore.... It all conspired to lure them into staying longer than planned. One thing led to another and opportunities just kept presenting themselves. The chance for mortgage free property ownership, an easy infrastructure for setting up a business and realizing the dream of self employment, the lure of a more casual lifestyle among a culture of practical and economical living.... Yes, a life with this kind of adventure and joy was too tempting not to embrace! In Katie's words, "there was never a question- we loved Golfito from the moment we pulled into port. It just took a few years to really see and believe that we could make choices to stay and that we could succeed! It's an incredibly bold thing to take a new and unconventional route in life, but not nearly as difficult as one might imagine. Yes, there were challenges along the way. But looking back on it, overcoming the obstacles often made the journey even more exciting and brought more satisfaction and rewards than could have ever been anticipated."
Sharing the fun, the experiences and the expertise gained over the past 20 is Katie's vocation - . and so obviously her pleasure! Katie and the team of competent people working along with her at Land Sea Services are very well equipped with the experience and ability to guide you into your adventures, assisting you all along the journey!
