Architects Live-in Studio in Boston

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Wait St, Boston, MA 02120, United States

The Space

Apartment now has permanent, hi-speed cable internet with easy WiFi access!

Small studio in Brigham Circle, short walk to Harvard Medical, Dental and Public Health schools, and one block further to MassArt, the Fenway and the Museum of Fine Arts. There is good pizza, good halal/indian food, multiple good pubs, a stop and shop, barbers/stylists, drug stores all within a block.

Just steps from Green line trolley stop (Fenwood Rd./ Green line E) to Downtown and everywhere in between! (less than 10 mins train ride to downtown.)

The apartment compactly sleeps 2. Groups of 2 of all ages have stayed at the apartment and have enjoyed their stay. A few times, 3 budget strapped students have stayed there and apparently gotten sleep--I don't recommend it though -- that's a tight squeeze! The bed is Twin-size with a second trundle twin-size under. Roll out at night, roll away during the day. The mattress thicknesses are such that they line up to kind of create a level, California King sized, expanse. If you have specific mattress preferences, I can give you an idea of whether it will work for you before booking--just ask.

tiled bath with real tub, hardwood floors, windows overlooking street, high ceiling in the room, and mini-kitchenette (half stovetop, fridge, toaster over, microwave, sink & cabinets).
Fresh towels and sheets upon your arrival.

At one time I used the space as studio for drawing, and architecture work, so one wall is decorated with architectural drawings and the like: easy on the eyes but also interesting to look at.
I don't these days use the apartment for work, except in a passing way while waiting for guests to arrive.. so the table is cleared off for guest use.
Also, we live a couple miles away (a 13 minute bike ride!), so days that are booked I won't need to stay there, but am most of the time within a couple of miles should you need me.

Now that I have an internet connection for you to share, it's not so necessary, but I can also direct you to where Wifi spots and cafes are located nearby, and elsewhere in Boston (The new in 2012 GreenTCafe around the block, JP Licks, the local ice cream chain foremost among them, a block inbound on Huntington below the Stop and Shop grocery).
Use of any cereal, milk, and coffee, tea are included, as well as the refrigerator, toaster oven and stovetop, etc. There is also an iron for your clothes and hangers in the closet.

Check In
  • Good location. Sean, the owner, is very nice and responds quickly.

  • We were only in Boston for one overnight, and Sean's studio was just what we needed. Being right on the Green Line, we had easy access to anywhere by public transportation, but we were pleased to find that it was only a 20 min (very pleasant) walk to Fenway and from there another 20 min. to downtown Boston.
We were also pleased to find the trundle bed has been replaced by a double bed. We had clean linens and towels, and the bathroom had been cleaned. The room was a bit dusty in a few places, but that was probably because Sean allowed us to check in early so there was little time for him to do a thorough cleaning.
Sean was easily reached for questions and was very flexible about check-in and check-out, and the detailed notes he provided about the place in advance were very helpful. The kitchenette seemed to have what anyone would need, but we didn't use it during such a short trip. The shower had good pressure.
This is an excellent lodging for anyone who doesn't care about a lot of space.
    We enjoyed our stay there.

  • Everything was fine. It's a convenient place to stay very close to subway (green line) in a friendly looking neighborhood with everything you need close by : reasonable restaurants, supermarket, ice-cream, coffee, liqueur store... The apartment, too has everything you need. We didn't meet Sean, but on the phone he seemed really easy-going. I recommend this place.

  • This place was OK. We were happy with the double bed(not twin that was shown) A bit buggy, maybe a good cleaning would help? ! Also some wiring that could be improved. The decorations were fun. Location great, we loved cafe on the corner!

I have been hosting people from all over the world through Airbnb for more than three years now and have really enjoyed the experience. Chatting with guests upon check in lets me not only tell them what a great city Boston is and how much it has to offer but to also listen to stories of where they live or have been to. That's what makes Airbnb such a great community builder in my mind - connecting people from all parts and walks of life. Just like all of the travelers that I've hosted, I am a traveler myself - having been to a number of countries in Central Asia, Europe, and lived for a time in Micronesia. Each time I travel, I make sure to find a local connection to tell me about places off the beaten path that a tourist guide might miss, and if all else fails - I just enjoy seeing where my feet (or a local bus/train/subway) take me. So if you're looking for the best Ethiopian food in Boston or a little known museum (a whole room of the most realistic glass flowers hand blown in the 19th century), I can definitely point you in the right direction. Speaking of directions, I bike a LOT around town and would be happy to provide a bike when you stay at either of my places. Boston may have a great (oldest in North America) subway system, but sometimes it's just nice to get on a bike and see where the next street takes you! What keeps me not only travelling on Airbnb but also hosting are the notes that I frequently get, letting me know what a great time someone had or how much they enjoyed visiting a part of city I mentioned to them. These notes always put a smile on my face and leave me knowing that I have made someone's visit memorable!
