This is a double room in our lovely flat in Shoreditch, central London. It's on the border of zone 1 & in a neighbourhood is packed with pubs, cafe's and restaurants. Views!

The Space

It is a light, airy room with big windows and a comfortable double bed. There's a chest of drawers and cupboards outside the room for extra storage.

The room itself isn't very big, but the flat is on two floors so feels very spacious and the lower floor has a long balcony with amazing views of London landmarks.

The kitchen is cosy and medium sized with everything you need - hob, oven, fridge, freezer and a washing machine. Our large sitting room has two couches - plus a piano! (It was carried up eleven flight of stairs, ask for the story). Upstairs there is a bathroom with shower and bath and a separate toilet.

We will provide clean bedding and towels. You are welcome to help yourself to tea, coffee and cereal, and feel free to use our herbs and spices if you're cooking. There's wifi in the flat, but it tends to be dodgy upstairs in the room. You're welcome to use the printer if you need to print out tickets/maps etc.

This area is buzzing with cafes, restaurants, bars, galleries and markets. There are always things to do in East London, and new things popping up and down. If it all gets too much - have a walk along the canal and you'll end in Victoria Park. That's if you manage to pass Broadway Market with all its foodie temptations and cosy hangouts.
Columbia Road flower market is just around the corner - if you wonder why everyone's carrying flowers on Saturdays and Sundays. If you're looking for a traditional English breakfast - 'The Premises' just up the road is a part recording-studio and part cafe and serves a mad fry-up. The place is one of our favorites, very unpretentious and the owner is mega nice.
There is a Tescos Supermarket just down the road, as well as a post office and ATM.
I've made a guide to the area, so hopefully you'll be able to make the most of it even if we're not around.

Many things are in walking distance - but if you want to venture further, night busses run 24/7 from the road just by our flat. There are also Rental bikes just down the road - a great way of getting to know London!
Hoxton Overground station is a mere 2 minute walk away. 15min walk to Old Street station and 20min to Liverpool Street. 10 minutes' walk from the cafe's and bars of Broadway market, 5 minutes' from Columbia Road flower market and 20 minutes' walk to Spitalfields market and Brick Lane. 5 minutes to Kingsland Road with bars and heaps of restaurants.

If possible, one of us will happily collect you from the station to show you the 2 minute walk from the station to our flat. Please don't hesitate and get in touch if you have any questions

Looking forward to meet you!

  • Karoline and Sarah were great hosts! They are very welcoming and they make you feel as you are at home. Furthermore they are great to talk to, very intelligent and fun. They take care of their hosts, giving great advices about the neighborhood, transportation and places to go! It was a great experience.

  • This a very special place. Full of light and close to the youngest area of London: Shoreditch. I felt at home from the very first day and integrated in the city life. Karoline is very helpful and makes the check in process really easy. Also, the bed was extremely comfortable, I slept like a baby!

  • I had a great stay at Karoline & Sarah's place. Our schedules were both pretty busy during the stay so didn't have much time to chat with both of them. The times we were all home at the same time it was great though. I felt at home staying at their place. The room was comfortable, clean, bright, and with a great view to add. The apartment itself is very close to the Hoxton Overground station so it made it very easy to get around no matter which method of transport you decided to use. I will definitely stay here again when I'm back in London.

  • We had a great time staying at Karoline & Sarah's place. The flat itself is in an excellent location right by Hoxton Station, only a short walk from all the excitement of Shoreditch. The room was clean, bright and airy and we were very comfortable. Karoline was great at arranging with keys and explaining everything we needed to know and both girls were very friendly and welcoming, but also just let us get on with our own things. We hope to stay again!

  • Karoline is a great host and I felt very comfortable in the apartment. I stayed there for 8 days and we met from time to time. She always had time to talk and gave recommendations for things to do in the territory. Her roommate sarah is also a very friendly and open person. For my next trip to London I'll keep this place in my mind!

  • Karoline and Sara were very warm hosts, and lovely company during my short stay in London. They were both very friendly, gave great advice about what to see and do in London and made me feel at home. The apartment is in a really good location: close to lots of buses, the overground, and plenty of supermarkets and cafes. A short walk to Regent's Canal too! The building did feel a little bit sketchy (the stairs stank of wee), but the area itself was safe. The room was small, but big enough for one person and their stuff. The bed was pretty comfy and I slept well, although the mattress might feel a bit thin if you were staying for a few weeks, or weren't completely exhausted after a day touring around the city! The wi-fi was also a little patchy in the room itself (much better downstairs in the living room), but this is only an issue if you want private internet time! The kitchen and living areas were clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was fine as well. Definitely recommended!

  • Karoline and Sarah were superb hosts, the apartment is beautiful and warm.
We arrived late and lost our direction from Luton to the apartment but Karoline saved the day and was amazingly helpful and nice helping us out!
We would absolutely recommend this stay for everyone!

  • Our stay in Karoline's home was very comfortable. We did not personally meet Karoline but we met her flatmate Sarah who was very kind and helpful. The room we stayed in had a a comfortable bed and the view was great! Public transportation was very accessible.

Hi, I'm Karoline. I live with my mates Sarah & Eloise and we occasionally rent out our rooms if we're away. Sarah is a lawyer, Eloise works in urban food growing and I'm a visual designer. We're often quite busy, but really relaxed about having people coming and we've met some great people from around the world. We're equally fond of being an AirBnb guests ourselves, and try to use it on holidays or for work.
