Sarah is very flexible and was a great host. The location of the flat is very good and I met nice people over there. Thanks a lot Sarah.
Location, location, location. Would highly advise for solo travelers such as myself
I had a great stay at the place. The room was clean as advertised and I had no problems getting in touch with Sarah. There were some minor hiccups (the room door got stuck at one point) but it was easily resolved. The key exchange process was smooth and the instructions were clear. The location was definitely amazing. If you need a place in Chinatown, this is a place to consider.
Sarah's apartment was a great central location to see Singapore from. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Sarah (most of the other rooms are on Airbnb also) but she was very quick to reply to any correspondence and was happy for us to leave our luggage in the lounge room on the last day until our late flight at no extra cost. Our room had good wifi reception, good aircon and a fridge which was quite handy. When all the other rooms were booked there was a que once or twice for the shower/washing machine but this was no problem for us. There are plenty of great food places nearby and the MRT is right underneath. Sarah gives you a great list of places to see and eat, which led us to the tastiest chicken rice at a nearby hawkers market! We enjoyed our Singapore trip immensely and would stay with Sarah again.
Overall, our stay was enjoyable. The apartment is in a central location, and the room itself is clean, spacious, and has a neat view. Sarah was very responsive via email etc. when we needed her, and she does give very clear instructions on how to find the place. The only downside that we encountered was a misunderstanding when we arrived - which was at no fault of the host. However, after our plane had been delayed, we arrived around 11pm; eager to drop our bags and sleep. When we arrived, we found that the door to the room was locked. We emailed Sarah, and luckily she responded at the late hour. She thought the door may have gotten shut by mistake, and directed us to a spare key... Surprise! We gave a poor gentleman who was in the room quite a fright. Embarrassed (both parties), we were about to leave and find a hotel even though Sarah assured us that it was indeed our room (we did not really want to get in the middle of the discrepancy between that guest and the host nor kick someone else out of "their" room so late - even if they were in the wrong). As it turned out, he was another guest who had gotten confused by a discrepancy in the room numbers combined with one tricky-to-locate room - and assumed the only open one he saw was his. He came out of the room though and was remarkably understanding and willing to fix the situation despite the late hour and the fact that he was just trying to get ready for a big exam he had to take the next day. He moved all of his belongings to the MUCH smaller room that he was supposed to be in (we felt bad again) and we changed the linens on the bed. So, it all worked out, but it was a bit uncomfortable and I guess that is a downside to the host not being onsite/close. We never did meet Sarah. But again, this was likely a rare unfortunate event, and the overall the room is a good value.
Room was clean and as described in pictures and description. Whilst Sarah wasn't there on this occasion, it didn't cause a barrier in communication. It would be hard to find a better location for the price you pay.

About the Host, Sarah
Greetings from Singapore! I am an American who has been living in Singapore for over a year. I have travelled and lived extensively throughout Europe & SE Asia and love to hear others stories and dream on my next adventure as well! We have been very fortunate to find an apartment in the center of where everything goes on and are lucky to have space to share in a country quite tiny!
I love travel and love staying at places that feel like home. I am a very easy going host and willing to work with you in anyway that I can to make your travel/stay at my places easier. I love outdoors & nature, scuba diving, as well as the city life with checking out new restaurants and cocktail bars.
