Overall Guest Satisfaction

  • Great place to stay. Huge bed. Great, simple breakfast at minimal cost. I happened to get sick(don't eat the old take away restaurant-literally the name). So good...but rendered me useless for 3 days. Arvind is awesome, knows a lot about Jaipur and speaks great English. He even did a private sunrise yoga class with me on the roof. Huge bed, nice shower and toilet. Thumbs up.

  • We returned to Arvind's house for a second time and it was the best as always!! Thanks Arvind!!

  • This is just the perfect place to stay in Jaipur: is near the old pink city, bus station and train station and there are a lot of nearby restaurants. Arvind's house is in a nice neighbourhood!! We stayed there for the Holi festival and could enjoy some time talking and enjoying with his friendly and nice neighbours!!! The room is big, with a lot of light, well decorated and very clean. Arvind and his wife were a very nice, open, kind and helpful couple. We definetly recommend his place!!!

  • Arvind and his wife are very nice and intelligent people - it was curious to have conversations with them, getting to know their opinion on things and get some hints and advices.
Arvind likes to collect antiques which make rooms in apartment look fancy and charming.
I had everything I need while staying in Explorer's Nest. in addition, hosts did their best to make me feel comfortable - arranging a taxi, providing fresh water, Arvind even helped me to order a pizza to my room.

    Great experience.

  • Arvind is an elegant and caring host and my visit was nothing less than joy-filled. My room was thoughtfully appointed and the entire atmosphere invited camaraderie among guests. It is situated near all transport so it's easy to make one's way to the Pink City, Taj Mahal and other well-known attractions. Highly recommended from a single traveler who felt nothing less than safe and pampered. Thank you!

  • We were extremely satisfied with our choice of accommodation in Jaipur. As far as we have heard from the locals, there have been no complaints of Mr. Arvind's homestay whatsoever. In order not to repeat the information already given by other guests, I must note that Explorer's nest has solar power heaters for hot water (important for environmentally conscious travelers) and the shower has been pleasantly hot (in contrast to other sites we have stayed in India). Mr. Arvind is a very pleasant, straightforward and kind man. His recommendation to eat out at Handi restaurant was one of the best Indian cuisine experiences during our one month travel.

    Response from Arvind:

We are so very glad that you liked our small place. Thank you very much for your nice words. It was a great pleasure to be your host and thank you for appreciating our go green initiative in form of Solar Water Heaters. We also thank you for your idea of giving the choice to the guests of using our filter water instead of botteled water which is so very enviornment unfriendly in form of water wastage and plastic bottles.

  • The reservation was canceled 7 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • This place was awesome! Arvind gives good directions to the place and it's a good location. The room was in a beautiful house, our own entrance, good size, private bath. We quite liked it. Also a lovely porch to relax on and limited well-priced breakfast options. Water at cost too. Great price for the area and what you get.

  • Arvind's accomodation was great. The room was comfortable, spacious, and the home was welcoming.

He also arranged for pick up at the station.

Besides the convenient breakfast, we also had our clothes washed for an adequate price.

We also saw how he was on his way to the pharmacy to get headache medicine for one of his guests.

Overall a great experience. Would definitely recommend him as a host!

    Response from Arvind:

thank you Lena for your kind words about our place. It was indeed a pleasure to be your host.

  • The Colonel is a fantastic, generous, attentive and flexible host. This was the second time that I have stayed at his lovely guest house and certainly won't be the last! The rooms are spacious, clean, bright and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious and nicely prepared to order from a little menu and the colonel also offers a simple, healthy, homecooked dinner if requested. The location is superb- directly between the new and old cities and walking distance from many great shops, markets, cafes, restaurants and jaipur's most famous cinema hall. Extremely good value for money- I would happily recommend the explorers nest to friends and family. Thank you!

Im a retired Army Officer. I like travelling, trekking, cooking, yoga and collecting antiques. I served in the army for 20 years then left it to start my own venture which would allow me flexibility of timings and where i could meet people from all over the world. So I set up my BnB setup. Now not only do I meet people from all over the world but make friends with them and even at times travel with them. Its such a rewarding experience.
