This cozy, comfortable, and newly remodeled studio with private entrance, bathroom and sunny patio is located in the charming Glen Park neighborhood, a friendly, historical district with many shops and amenities centrally located in the city of San Francisco. With quick and easy access to all parts of town, we are just a 10 minute walk from all public transportation, including the Glen Park BART (connecting directly to Downtown SF and the Mission District in 5 - 10 minutes, and to the entire Bay Area). Also, the 280 and 101 freeways are just a couple of blocks away. Parking is extremely easy in this area.
The studio is located on the lower level of a large private home. Enter the main entrance of the home to access the separate lower level unit. The studio opens onto small landing with a large mirrored closet, small granite-topped kitchenette area, and large bathroom with jacuzzi bathtub to the left. Bright and cheerful, the room is decorated with an understated Japanese motif and includes a new full-size bed, berber-style light-colored carpeting, calming and plentiful recessed lighting, one full closet, a desk area, and beautiful built-in cabinets. The bedroom opens up onto a large patio that gets plenty of light all day. The bathroom, with its deco-styling, generous shelving, and great jacuzzi style bathtub and shower is a stand-out feature. There is also a heater in the bedroom for chilly nights. Linens and towels are provided. Laundry is in the main house upon request, and is $2.00 (cash) per load.
The kitchenette includes: granite-top counter with two stools, microwave, small refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, cups, glasses, dishware and silverware. The kitchenette does not include a stovetop or oven.
The unit - including the patio, which is not shared - is very private. The hosts live upstairs, and the feel of the studio is very separate from the main house and features new insulation. The studio also includes WIFI and an analog TV with basic cable.
We look forward to hosting you!
Colette was so sweet!! she'll greet you with a big smile and makes you feel like you're at the right place! My favorite part was that you get your own entry way, and she lives upstairs so you pretty much have your own little studio yourself! There's also this cute little yard that you can chill and read on a nice sunny day. Before you arrive, she stocks the fridge with some goodies and also a few snacks for you! There's also tea & coffee that's complimentary, all you have to do is to heat up the water -- LOVE IT! She also has a microwave in the room so that's convenient as well. There's also a TV with cable and good selections of channels, the house has WIFI, and pretty much everything you need basically! Colette's place is super well kept, you can tell she pays attention to details and keeps the place spot less. The bathroom is a super bonus, it's very spacious and clean, very nice to come back and take a hot bath after a long day out in SF!
Overall i highly recommend it -- the ONLY down side is that it's about 10min walk from BART and it's pretty dark around that neighborhood so it's a bit scary to walk that distance if you're female and by yourself at night....although it seems to be a safe neighborhood....
We love seeing Colette when we come to San Francisco. She is an extended part of our family now. My mom even sends her pictures of my baby niece, who is growing up fast just a few blocks from Colette in Glen Park. We look forward to staying three again in the coming months!
I had a great time staying at Colette's place. The room was completely separate and allowed me to come and go with privacy. The cleanliness and attention to detail was impressive, from the available iron and ironing board, to the well-stocked mini-fridge and assortment of fresh fruits.
Several restaurants of varying ethnicities were just a close walk away. Everything I had was delicious.
I had originally intended to stay in a hotel and used airbnb as a last resort, but based on my experience with Colette, I would happily use her room as a first choice now. You won't get this level of personal attention at this price at any hotel.
In summary, Colette is a lovely woman with a friendly disposition who clearly takes pride in offering this service. You would be well served choosing her place for your stay.
I had a splendid time at Colette's lovely studio this past week.. She is a very sweet woman who greeted me at the door and showed me around and explained everything to me.I purposely chose to stay here because of the proximity to local shops as well as my daughter's home which was very close by. The bed was so comfortable and it was a pleasure to be able to relax in the whirlpool tub!
I was amazed at the amount and quality of food she had provided. I never had to go out for breakfast because there was a wide assortment of rolls, cereal--hot and cold-- lots of fruit..really too much to name.
I hope this studio will be available this time next year, becuase it is a perfect getaway when I visit my daughter and family during vacation week.
I had a perfect stay at Colette's place and was really sad to leave after 2 weeks. The studio was spacious and furnished beautifully. Colette thought of every comfort for my stay and went above and beyond in being helpful. It was very close to BART - only 5 minutes, and the town is super sweet. I ate almost daily at Canyon Market, and I know good food. I discovered Destination Bakery too, which had amazing baked goods. I highly recommend Colette's place and hope to return again soon.
Colette is wonderful and the Apt was so cozy and we'll equipped! Conveniently located and stocked with goodies that Colette was kind enough to supply. I highly recommend a stay at her private studio!
We had a wonderful stay at Colette's studio. It was immaculate, quiet and well equipped with everything we needed and wanted. When we arrived the studio was stocked with bottled water, fruit, yogurt, eggs, fresh bagels, cream cheese, pastries, cereal, milk, juice, coffee, everything we could need! Colette was very helpful with the local area, public transportation etc. when asked. She was not at all intrusive and gave us complete privacy. Her studio is located in a wonderful neighborhood that has restaurants and shops within walking distance as well as a BART station and MUNI stop.. We may have a need to return to the bay area sooner than expected and will definitely book with her again!
My husband and I spent 4 nights at Colette's , and the place was immaculate, the bed comfortable, and the location ideal. The Bart was only a few blocks away, as were a nice market, a coffee house and other shops. Colette couldn't have been nicer or more generous. We were blown-away by all the snacks, breakfast items and beverages provided for our use. We highly recommend Colette's place.
Colette provides a beautiful atmosphere and makes you feel totally at home immediately. Had food in my personal fridge and pantry on arrival, blew me away.
Thanks colette for an amazing experience.
My boyfriend and I stayed with Colette on our first visit to San Francisco over New Years- we had a lovely experience! The apartment is in Glen Park, a really cute neighborhood right by the Bart and near some nice local coffeeshops, restaurants and a local bar with a fireplace, which was perfect for our winter stay. Glen Park is just south of the Mission and Financial District, and also not far from the airport. We liked staying in a neighborhood accessible to, but not in the heart of downtown San Francisco.
The apartment is very cozy, clean, and Colette stocked the minifridge for us with snacks and treats including two small bottles of champagne for us because our stay coincided with the new year. She is very sweet and hospitable. If I go back to SF, I know where I'm staying!
