Check In
  • Leslie and Charles provided us with such a wonderful vacation in Lake Placid. Their home was warm and welcoming and the comfortable bed was a welcome treat at the end of our adventureous days. The kitchen was well stocked and allowed us the freedom to cook breakfast each morning. Additionally, their home allowed us easy access to Saranac Lake, Whiteface Mountain, and of course the Main Street of Lake Placid. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. It was fun getting to feel like a Lake Placid local since Charles provided us with the best local places to go and eat.

Thanks for coming Elizabeth. Glad you had good snowboard weather.

  • Staying with Leslie and Charles felt like staying with family! We had a great weekend away from the city, and they made us feel very comfortable in their home. They even let us use their kayaks, and Charles brought them down to the drop point for us! They recommended a fantastic restaurant, and when we told them we had plans to go hiking in Keene's Valley, Charles even recommended a diner to try there that is known for it's pies. They also have an incredibly cute little beagle named Darwin. It was an all around great experience and I definitely look forward to going back!

  • Leslie and Charlie are great hosts. Their greeting was warm and welcoming and they were very helpful with recommendations for activities and things to do during our stay in Lake Placid. The house and room were very clean and cozy. I highly recommend Leslie and Charles' home for your stay in Lake Placid.

  • We had a fantastic time at Leslie and Charles' place and in Lake Placid! There's so much to do and they were great hosts in providing us with maps, brochures, recommendations, and hiking books to borrow. We were able to plan out our whole trip no problem with their help.

The house itself is very nice, comfortable and like you're at home. The room is a good size, and they provided a chair and luggage rack so we could easily access our suitcases. Plus they offer hangars and drawers if you want to unpack some. The bathroom is great! Good water pressure in the shower, too. Everything was very clean.

In the morning they offer some tea or coffee to start your day and are always ready to converse and are both full of interesting stories. We had another couple staying in the King room while we were there and they were really nice, too. Leslie even saw that we had a shared interest in ice hockey and mentioned it to us so we'd have more to talk about with them.

They are really great hosts and we had a very nice time. Also, Darwin is the cutest beagle and a really sweet dog! I definitely recommend to stay here, and we hope to stay here again. Our only regret was not staying longer and just relaxing with a book on the back porch.

    Response from Leslie:

    Hi Sheila,
I sent a join request from airbnb. Let me know what email address you would do it under if you decide to become hosts. They give a referral fee that is nice to use for our own travel.
    Have a safe trip home,

  • We left most of our review under the other rental of the Unique Dorm Loft. My mother stayed in the Queen room and just loved it, said the bed was extremely comfortable, the room nice and clean with helpful empty drawers. Would definitely return!

I am an avid gardener, both flowers and organic vegetables. I grow most of my vegetables at the Community Garden and some at home. I love to cook and enjoy the flavors of my home grown veggies. I am an emerging artist in print making, studying and practicing at the local BluSeed art Workshop, North Country Community College and Mesa Art Center in Arizona. I have a creative soul and have enjoyed creating the dorm/loft living space. My husband, Charles, is a part time college professor and published writer. Sometimes you can catch him performing his poetry at one of the local venues. We love foraging in the woods for eatable wild mushrooms. Our new avocation is being host of our airbnb guests and sharing our love and knowledge in this beautiful part of the world.
