I gave 5 stars to Nick because everything was perfect.
Location amazing, clean place, every thing I needed was there. Loved the place and thumbs up for Nick. Fast for helping and answering.
I stayed with my family and had nothing but a great time in Boston!
This was my first experience using airnb but I am now totally converted. Who needs hotels!!! I had booked a very last minute trip to Boston with a friend and we were really struggling to find any accommodation until someone suggested trying this. It was genius move. Nick's flat is in a perfect location, situated in a lovely area right in the heart of Back Bay with everything just steps from your doorstep and the beautiful Boston Public Gardens and Common right at the end of the street. The flat itself was in immacualate condition in a beautiful brownstone house. Although I never met Nick personally he was an invaluable help from helping me to actually set up an airnb profile, to providing me with brilliant insider suggestions and tips of what to do once we arrived. We had an amazing time in Boston both the city and the people are fantastic but I think staying here rather than some generic hotel along with along with all Nick's helpful info really made the trip. I'd love to come back again sometime and I'm looking forward to trying out someother places using airnb. Cheers Nick :-)
Awesome apartment, awesome location, and awesome host! Nick was so accommodating and we just felt so at home here.Highly, highly recommended. Where else on the east coast can you find a convenient, spacious yet cozy apartment on the first floor in a safe and fun neighborhood with it's own private entrance for half the price of a hotel?! Only here.
Nick was a great host. My traveling companion and myself had specific time requirements because we were traveling to a conference and Nick went above and beyond to meet us with our keys. The apartment itself was ideally placed and impeccably maintained. The perfect stay in Boston!
I stayed for 12 days in Nick's apartments. The apartment is in a very good location. The back door makes it so much easier to go anywhere. The room is big and spacious. The only problem I have is that there is no phone signal because it's a basement apartment. I did also stay during the very hot month in Boston and there is no Air conditioning. There were a few days that was a bit too much to handle. Other than that I like Nick's place a lot.
Great location, comfortable apartment. It really is "steps to everywhere". Nick is pretty helpful and responsive. Thumbs up!
The only dampener was that the unit doesn't have an AC, which would be fine for most days (since the unit is in the basement) but we were unlucky to be there in a week when the summer was at its scorching peak (100+ F).
The unit is not tidy or clean. There was clutter in the corners and stuff shoved everywhere. You could write your name in the dust on most lower surfaces and it was apparent that no serious cleaning goes on here.
While it is located on a very beautiful street, it actually faces the public alley where your view is of garbage cans and rodent bait stations.
The bedroom is windowless and only one window in the living room had a a screen and could be opened, Ventilation was awful and the unit smelled stale.
Kitchen was described as fully equipped, but was lacking a toaster or coffee pot. Owner found a French press for us before he left so we were able to make coffee. We didn't expect to cook while we were there, just to use the refrigerator and that, like everything else, was not clean.
The bathroom was gross, with hair in the corners of the tub and a receipt from 2012 behind the bottle of shampoo. The toilet had not been cleaned around for quite a long time and that was was where the extra toilet paper was stored. There were nice towels, but that hardly made up for the lack of cleanliness.
To sum it up...Boston is a great city which we certainly plan to return to, the Back Bay area can't be beat and we would pick it again, and the unit, if clean, would have been adequate for us. The lack of cleanliness would be the reason we would not chose to stay there again.
Bob and his wife were seemed very nice. They left the place tidy. I only wish that if they had any issues they simply communicate them to me by calling or emailing to let me know. Had I known, I would have had any problems handled immediately. I would have called my cleaning company and had them rectify the situation. Needless to say I will not be using the same cleaning company again. I apologize for any inconvenience.
It should be noted that I did not hear from them at all during their stay. Nowhere in the ad description for this apartment does it mention a coffeemaker. There is a toaster oven, maybe they did not notice it on top of the refrigerator. Nice guests, however no communication.
the cleanliness of the apartment. Please
read the review on Nick’s page from the couple that stayed after us. They also found it unclean, full of clutter,
and described additional problems we did not mention. Regarding his review of
us: We did not ask for a larger dresser
we only asked that he remove his clothes from the drawers so we could use
them. We also never asked for a toaster
or coffee maker. He did have a toaster
oven but if was full of crumbs and grease and we wound up cleaning it in order
to use it. The bedding? It clearly contained hair and other slept in
debris. We had to remove the sheets, shake them, out
and turned everything inside out to replace them on the bed. It was not a pleasant night knowing that one
was sleeping on previously slept on sheets. And yes we read the description of the apartment including the pictures. And the picture of Nick’s bathroom which has
the shower curtain closed? If the
curtain was open you would see a solid black line of bacteria and mold between
the tub and tile. Finally, it really did
not bother us that he lived there – but it did bother us that he provided an
apartment that was full of clutter and hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned for quite
some time. There was absolutely no sign
that any professional cleaning service was used before we arrived. Nick’s apartment is in a great location and
now that he has 2 honest reviews it would be behoove him to use this
information to make the needed changes so a stay in his apartment could be a
pleasant and comfortable experience.
All I can say is WOW. See their profile for my full review on these guests.
I am more than happy to bend over backwards to accommodate any request
within reason for a guest, but there is no other way to say it.. these
people would have found something to complain about regardless. Please read
all of my other reviews. This apartment was given to them the same as
anyone else. Everyone else loved my place. It is clean, has everything you
need, and is the best location. Some of their biggest complaints were that
the apartment did not have certain features like a toaster, coffee maker,
large dresser. Clearly in my listing description is what the apartment
DOES have, not what it does not have. Please do not let this slander
affect your decision to rent a great apartment. Message me first with any
questions or concerns.
Sandra and I stayed at Nick's apartment for 3 nights. Great place to stay as a base for sjghtseeing. Walk across Boston Common to the Freedom Trail, easy walk to the river and restaurants on Newbury and Beacon Hill. Lived-in bachelor apartment with all the facilities you need. Very comfortable. Nick a nice guy and settled us in well.
Home from an excellent stay in Nick's apartment during a wild week in Boston! With the rapidly changing events last week, Nick was in constant and quick communication. That was incredibly helpful! He met me at the place when I arrived to show me around- it's a very nice apartment in excellent shape. Everything was clean and neat and ready for me.
The location is perfect just a few blocks from Boyleston Street. As others have mentioned, the direct alley access in back was really handy as well. I will definitely be back again to stay at Nick's when I can actually get to Boyleston and explore more of the great restaurants there. I did walk over to Fenway for a game one night- not bad at all, 25 minutes.
Highly, highly recommend Nick as a host and his place if you're on your way to Boston! Side note: it was awesome to see the pride and spirit of the folks there after the tragedy of the Marathon bombing. Great town with terrific people- Boston Strong for sure!
