And the longer description... :)
We are offering our beautiful guest apartment for your vacation home! This is a private one bedroom guest apartment and you don't have to share it with anyone else.
THE APARTMENT AND OUR HOUSE:
Our house can fit three families living in here and it's a mixture of modern an old. The house itself is an old brownstone but it's newly renovated with brand new modern kitchens, bathrooms, wooden floors and appliances (fridge, microwave, stove etc.)
This guest apartment is located at the second floor of our three story house.
The apartment has one bedroom with two windows and an en suite (inside the bedroom) bathroom. The bedroom has one queen sized bed that can sleep two people. There is also full sized new kitchen and a spacious living room with high ceilings. In the living room there is a full sized (slightly smaller than queen size) futon sofa bed that can sleep up to two people.
The kitchen has basic plates, cups, pots & pans and basic cooking utensils for those who like to cook.
We can give you a free password to our WiFi internet (if you have your own lap top, tablet)
THE LOCATION AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
The house is located 5-6 minutes walk to the blue line C train Kingston/Throop Avenue Subway station. It takes you to Brooklyn Downtown in 6-10 minutes, Lower Manhattan in about 15 min and Midtown Manhattan (Times Square) 25-30 min. (You can look at the Subway map by putting a search online "MTA Subway Map")
Our house is at the border of ethnically diverse Crown Heights and Bedford Styvesant neighborhoods. This is very typical Brooklyn Middle-Class Neighborhood.
Commercial Fulton Street that has some food places (mostly take out, e.g. Subway sandwiches, Caribbean food places, Mc Donald's) is less than 5 minutes walk away from the house.
There is an Apple Bee's neighborhood bar & grill about 12-15 minute walk from the house.
There is a big Supermarket about 10-12min. walk from our house.
The Bus B15 that goes to JFK Airport stops right outside our house.
Also, if you are sensitive to noise please consider that we are located one block away from the Long Island Railroad train elevated tracks. ( I don't like loud noise and I haven't find it bothering but if you do we'd be happy to give you ear plugs to make your stay more comfortable! :)
We have a very strict non-smoking policy and we would prefer guests who do not smoke not to have any problems with this.
Smoking outside of the house is fine but please note that smoking inside the apartment or in our hallway will result in non refunding the $200 security deposit. So please don't! :)
CHECK IN/OUT TIMES:
Our check in time is after 3pm and check out before 11am. .
We have cats but they stay downstairs and don’t come to the guest apartment. :)
And if you stay with us, we would greatly appreciate your review about your stay! Your opinion is very important to us!

We have stayed there for 10 days and it was the perfect place for us. The Appartment is like on the pictures: tasteful, spacious and clean. We had everything we need to feel at home. Jenny is a very obliging host. She even helped us in advance of our arrival by giving us warning of the limitattion of public transport:-) and
All in all - a great place to stay which I highly recommend. Thank you sincerely!
Jenny was an exceptional host and extremely helpful with any questions or additional requests I had. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable too. All in all, a great stay!
Jenny's and Jose's place is situated in a nice looking brown stone building neighborhood which gives a cosy feeling when returning after visiting the very high-rise Manhattan.
The apartment is spacious and extremely clean, with a nice kitchen and a separate cosy bedroom. A thorough book of all the possible indications about transport, shops and sights in NYC was available which I and my boyfriend appreciated a lot. And the hosts themselves are very friendly and helpful.
The metro transport is also near enough, making easy connections with Manhattan.
All in all - a great place to stay which I highly recommend.
Thank you Jenny and Jose - it was a pleasure, and I'm very looking forward to my next stay at your place.
I stayed at Jenny and José's house with 3 friends and it was just perfect! The house is 5minutes walk from the Subway, next to supermarkets and 30minutes from Manhattan. It was super clean and big enough for 4 people!
Jenny was super friendly and welcoming! She was always available to answer our questions and adviced us on everything!
I highly recommend this place!! The house and the hosts were perfect!!! It was my first experience with Airbnb and i hope the ohers will be as good as this one!!
Thanks again Jenny and José !!! :)
First time to New York!!! I vacationed with my sister in New York. We did a lot of shopping, touristy activities, and toured NYU. The location of Jenny and Jose's place in Brooklyn was perfect for our stay. Conveniently located near the subway. We came and went at all times of the night and felt safe. Jenny & Jose provided a detailed guide of where to go and which directions we shouldn't go. IT WAS SO COLD OUTSIDE! Thanks Jenny and Jose for leaving the heat on. We definitely thought that this was the perfect place with a lot of space. The host followed up with us before and during the trip. I will stay here again!
As two friends travelling to New York for the first time, this apartment was perfect! It was exactly as advertised, and Jenny and Jose were fantastic at keeping in contact. We had plenty of space and didn't even notice the noise of the nearby trains! We had a double bed each to ourselves - all this for the price of a shared hostel dorm.
The area is very accessible by the C train, and you really feel like you're in the heart of Brooklyn. Coming from London, it's just so nice to have a subway system that runs 24 hours!! I returned to the apartment alone at 1am and felt completely safe.
I will be returning!
Our stay at Jenny and Jose's was wonderful. Jenny is a very friendly and extremely accommodating host. On our first night there, the apartment was cold and when I notified Jenny of this she came right up to the apartment, helped us figure out the source of the problem (a window open by a smidgen), and gave us extra blankets to keep warm. As soon as the issue was fixed, though, it was very nice and cozy in the apartment. The apartment is beautiful and was fully equipped with everything we needed. It's a good neighbourhood with grocery store, subway and fast food all nearby. I would certainly stay here again!
My friend and I spent one week in Jenny and Jose's apartment.
The apartment was perfectly clean and exactly as shown on the pictures, if not nicer! It offers everything you need, TV, perfectly equipped kitchen, nice bathroom,..
When arriving we did not really know what to expect from the neighbourhood but it turned out to be just great.
Subway is 3min walk from the apartment and has a great direct connection to Manhattan.
Jenny was also very helpful with tips and she even has a guide ready with all kinds of useful information.
We would certainly return here and recommend this apartment to everybody!
My son and I stayed at Jenny and Jose's apartment and we would certainly recommend it.
The apartment is spacious, clean and well equipped and you are supplied with clean towels and so on. We didn't actually meet Jose, because I think Jenny is the one who takes care of guests. She is very willing to help, but she doesn't bother you unnecessarily. Help is there if you need it, but you get privacy and independence.
Kingston Throop subway station is only about 5 minutes away, so it's quick and easy to get to downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan. There are a lot of local buses that you can also use an MTA subway card on, but generally it's quicker and easier to use the subway.
The apartment is on the border of Crown Heights and Bedford-Stuyvesant. Those districts are well known in the USA and used to have a reputation for being tough and dangerous. Nowadays both districts are starting to become gentrified, especially Bed-Stuy. We found the area slightly edgy, but in a positive way. We never felt threatened or unsafe. The people we met were polite, friendly and helpful - the same as New Yorkers in general. There is a stereotype that New Yorkers are rude and impatient, but we couldn't see where this has come from.
Manhattan is so incredible that it tends to overshadows the rest of New York. We had enough time to explore Brooklyn as well and that's something we would definitely recommend. In the immediate area there are inexpensive shops and eating places on Fulton and Norstrand that are much better than you might expect, and there are also a lot of interesting areas and places to visit elsewhere in Brooklyn. The same is probably true of the other boroughs.
So overall, a nice comfortable 'real' way to experience New York.
We stayed in the one-bedroom apartment ten days end of sept '13. We had a wonderful time in NY. The apartment is spatious (about 40 m²), bright and confortable. The neighborhood is quiet, Fulton street is a main street where you can witness the life in working-class NY surburbs and find food stores, fast food and services. Express and local trains stations are close, about half an hour to get to Manhattan.
Even though I am normally very sensitive to noise, the train which passes didn't not really bother me and didn't prevent me from sleeping. To be honest, we felt dead when we came back at home, NY is exciting and tiring!
Jenny & Jos are perfect hosts, discreet and serviceable. We felt like at home.
