Wonderful, full service breakfast included, daily cleaning, air con and wifi. Stay in the most exciting area of Ubud. Close to all amenities. Live like the Balinese!
Bungalow Jepun is a jewel set in the center of a quiet lush garden filled with the sounds of falling water, exotic birds and the bark of geckos.
A short walk along a narrow path about 200 meters from the main road takes you away from the sounds of cars and motorbikes and into the our compound .
Villa Semua Suka, which means "everybody likes' and Bungalow Jepun are contained within the same walled compound and lush gardens .
The Bungalow has one queen-size bedroom, and one large bathroom with both an indoor shower and an outdoor shower and bathtub.
The outdoor veranda, swimming pool, gazebo and garden are all part of your living area.
It was completed two years ago to Western standards with a Balinese aesthetic, and was built on the lower level of a former rice field. It has a fish pond and small waterfall, its own garden, outdoor loungers, umbrella, a small veranda with a table and 2 chairs and another comfortable chair for relaxing.
Bungalow Jepun also has air conditioning, a flat screen TV and DVD player, iPod player, refrigerator and small daybed, as well as wireless internet throughout the grounds. Interaction with Guests
We are often at home in Bali, and when we are....interact extensively with our guests who often become like members of our family.
Milo our pug is here when we are to entertain our guests as well.
The neighborhood is very convenient to everything in Ubud and is a microcosm of the best that Bali has to offer. A walk out to the rice fields will enable you to experience the daily life of the farmers in this agricultural community. Watch the ducks as they clean the rice fields and get them ready for a new crop; see locals washing their laundry in the streams; visit with local artisans in their homes and really get a sense of what Bali is all about!
There are cars and drivers that can be rented along the main road for trips into Ubud.
We also have a driver that can take you touring anywhere in Bali.
Some of our guests have opted to rent motor bikes or push bikes and that's something that we're able to arrange on their behalf.
We ask that you arrive before 4:00 pm as that is when Made' leaves for the day. If this is impossible we will need to make special arrangements.
Wishing I were still in Bali, frolicking in the pool. Equally good for sitting around and doing nothing, or close enough to stuff that is either walkable, or there is a cab stand at the nearby Bintang market. Having the Bintang market close at hand is very convenient. The breakfast prepared by Made was fantastic, with great breads and homemade jams, and a number of food options to suit most anyone. She was also extremely helpful when we were improvising our plans for activities to do, and our next destination after Ubud. The only downside was that the AC unit wasn't really cooling the unit, which was fine for me, not so much for my GF. Again, Made was super helpful and set us up in another bedroom in the main house that was vacant.
Great stay, cute place. Pia was incredibly helpful - delicious breakfasts, she organized our day trips, and made great suggestions. Location very close to the centre. Would return again! :)
My girlfriend and I stayed 5 nights in Barbara's bungalow around the Christmas time.
We arrived quite late on the 24th but Barbara helped us to book the transfer from the airport to her house. Everything went smooth!
The property has a really high standard and it is located in a super calm area with some local restaurants/cafes near by. Nevertheless we used to walk to ubud center without any stress!
Barbara & Henry had available a book full of recommendations and good tips! Their staff was super helpful and took well care of us!
I am still dreaming about Pia's breakfast ...
We really enjoyed our stay!

What a great experience, will definitely recommend to all my friends that visit the area. I especially loved the breakfast!
We had a great time at Barbara & Henry's place. Great welcome and great recommendations. Lovely bungalow with air con and modern amenities. You'll wish you owned an outdoor shower by the time you leave. Pia and Ratna's breakfasts were amazing. The whole experience was very comfortable and welcoming and I highly recommend getting Blue to come and pick you up and take you around. A true gentleman and very friendly and knowledgeable. A highly recommended place to stay.
Barbara and Henry are lovely hosts. I had a pleasant time chatting with them and they do make me feel very much at home. They respect my personal space and I believe in showing respect to them and their beautiful abode too.
Their two helpers, Made and Pia, are diligent and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, healthy and freshly prepared every morning. The black rice bread and home-made jams were wholesome and authentic. Both helpers also do a good job in keeping the entire villa clean and neat. Please take some time to converse with the helpers and you will learn that they are such contented, caring and genuine people.
The villa has a beautiful layout and it is surrounded by lush greenery. The gardener goes to great lengths in keeping the garden beautiful. If you take a moment to admire the surrounding, you can feel the tranquility in the air.
As a city-dweller, hitting the hay sack by 10pm in Ubud is a bonus and I love the fact that every night, I fall asleep to a symphony played by an orchestra of crickets. I was able to sleep soundly in this villa every night! To be honest, I feel more well-rested in Ubud than in Singapore!
And I must mention about MILO! He is a four year old pug with gentle and calm energy. When I am doing my reading on the sofa, MILO would lay beside me and offer his quiet companionship.
A note to those who have a phobia of dogs, you really have nothing to fear when MILO is around. He is such a darling and loves a good tummy rub. ;)
It has been an exceptional learning experience for me in my one week stay in Ubud. I was fortunate to be a guest, under the care of Barbara, Henry and all their helpers. I highly recommend you to stay here.
What an incredible stay with Henry and Barbara! Truly the highlight of our 6 weeks on the road. They are a lovely couple who provided phenomenal accommodation and recommendations for our stay in Ubud. The breakfasts were especially fantastic- traditional Indonesian food and fruity crepes- YUM!! If you're looking for luxury accommodations for a very reasonable price, definitely book with Barbara and Henry.

My husband and I have had a love affair with Bali for many years, buying our Villa Sunrise on the beach in 2004, opening an Indonesian furniture and art gallery in Santa Fe New Mexico, organizing yoga and meditation retreats, and now having built our Villa in the ricefields of Ubud.
Villa Semua Suka and Bungalow Jepun were built in 2011 to western standards with a Balinese esthetic.
We have decorated the villa with high quality Balinese art, furniture and artifacts. Villa Sunrise, Villa Semua Suka and Bungalow Jepun are our 'homes' not 'hotels'........welcome Home!
