Our guests have access to the swimming pool, garden grounds, a relaxing gazebo and the services of our staff.

Interaction with Guests

We are often at home in Bali, and when we are....interact extensively with our guests who often become like members of our family.
Milo our pug is here when we are to entertain our guests as well.

The Neighborhood

The neighborhood is very convenient to everything in Ubud and is a microcosm of the best that Bali has to offer. A walk out to the rice fields will enable you to experience the daily life of the farmers in this agricultural community. Watch the ducks as they clean the rice fields and get them ready for a new crop; see locals washing their laundry in the streams; visit with local artisans in their homes and really get a sense of what Bali is all about!

Getting around

There are cars and drivers that can be rented along the main road for trips into Ubud.
We also have a driver that can take you touring anywhere in Bali.
Some of our guests have opted to rent motor bikes or push bikes and that's something that we're able to arrange on their behalf.

  • Bungalow Jepun was lovely! It is exactly like you see in the photos, very peaceful and has all the comforts one would like.
Barbara and Henry were excellent hosts, always willing to offer advice and recommendations on whatever I needed. They really thought of everything, including loaning me a local mobile so I could easily make bookings, or use it to call them if I was ever stuck.
Barbara booked one of her drivers, Blue, to pick me up from the airport. He was waiting there when I arrived and made my journey to Ubud easy and enjoyable. He drove me back once my stay was over, and was also available for any day trips I wanted to go.
The surrounding area is beautiful and has everything one needs; cafe's, restaurants, supermarket, day spas, yoga classes and is within walking distance to Ubud centre.
I would recommend staying here to anyone looking for a peaceful, easy experience. Absolutely beautiful. I would definitely stay here again should I return.

  • We had the most amazing time at the Bungalow! We, now, feel like we have family in Ubud! Barbara, Henry, Pia, Ratna and Milo made the experience in Ubud for us!!! They were incredibly welcoming, told us the best things to do, and even gave us a cell phone to use while we are there. The villa is absolutely amazing and located in the perfect spot in Ubud. It is out of the chaos and tourism of the city, which we really appreciated. We cannot wait to come back and stay again :) If you are coming to Ubud, this is definitely the place to stay! Couldn't recommend any higher.

  • Barbara and Henry were great hosts and gave us all the information we needed to have a great time in Ubud.
The Bungalow was beautifully furnished and we would highly recommend it.
Pia's breakfasts were delicious.(try her amazing black rice pudding!)

The location was great in the rice fields on the outskirts of Ubud. The area is so quiet and relaxing and only a short walk to nice cafes and shops nearby and It only took 10/15 mins to reach the town and all that Ubud has to offer.
    Hope to visit again soon

  • Thank you Barbara and Henry!
Danny and I had a lovely time at your place in Ubud. Made's homemade bread, jams and cookies were delicious - wish we could've had more!

Everyone was so helpful with accommodating the delays and arrival time changes due to the weather, which was necessary on arrival and departure (we came during the rainy season). The bungalow was lovely, ideal for a couple, with its own outdoor lounge area for breakfast and hanging out with a book. The outdoor shower and bath are an extra added perk, which was appreciated in the hot weather.

In reality, the pictures don't do the place justice. It's more than you see online.

Thank you again! We hope to be back and will look you up then!

  • Me, my wife and baby daughter all thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Barbara, Henry, Made and Milo who were charming hosts. The bungalow was very nice and close to plenty of interesting shops and cafes. Shall stay there again if we visit Bali.

  • We had a wonderful experience with Barbara and Henry. The villa is beautiful and very peaceful. They thought ahead for us (even provided a phone for our use). Ratna and pia are such excellent cooks and blue was readily available to drive us. We felt very well taken care of and comfortable in their home.

  • Barbara's apartment was great! We felt like home. Pia prepared every morning a delicious breakfast with home made jam and bread. The garden is just amaizing! We'll be back! Thank you for everything.

  • I never got to meet Barbara personally but she still managed to convey all the information about her villa accurately weeks before our stay. Her helper Madé had been around from day one picking us from our meeting point, servicing us until the last day by having her husband (Suantara) sending us off to the airport.

If that still isn't convincing enough, Madé and her team makes the best breakfast around Ubud, freshly prepared and served at your doorstep (go for the omelette and fresh mango juice). Kudoos to Barbara and Henry for finding a gem like Madé.

My girlfriend and I had a pleasant holiday in Ubud, and Barbara's villa situated right on the fringe of Ubud town gave us the right balance of privacy and accessibility.

Thanks for having us over. I would stay at their beautiful place again and would definitely recommend it to my friends.

  • Barbara's villa is located on what has to be the prettiest ridge in all of Ubud--just walking from the Villa to other parts of Ubud was a treat! The bungalow is very nice and well kept, with a very comfortable bed. We didn't quite realize how close the bungalow was to the villa when we booked, but everything ended up being private enough. Unfortunately we woke too early to take advantage of Made Pia's breakfasts (thanks to jet lag), but enjoyed several early morning meals at the Yellow Flower Cafe, just along the ridge. Thanks for a lovely stay!

  • Unquestionably better than a 5-star resort, bungalow Jepun is a tropical paradise, nestled away in the peaceful ricefields of Ubud. It was the perfect place for a relaxing week away. The villa itself has been renovated to an extremely high standard. It has both an indoor and outdoor bathroom, a luxurious 4 poster bed, a TV, DVD player, iPod compatible sound system and a great Wifi connection. There is also a beautiful plunge pool in the grounds, which I used to cool down in the heat of the day. Barbara was a fantastic host and arranged for Blue (her driver) to pick me up from the airport when I arrived. Despite my flight being delayed 3 hours, Blue was waiting for me at the gate when I finally arrived at 1.30am. Barbara also arranged for a scooter to be dropped off the morning after I arrived, so I could explore the town at my leisure. Pia, the housekeeper was amazing, and cooked me a delicious breakfast every morning. She was also extremely helpful in advising me on activities I could do (like Balinese Batik). I cannot recommend this place more highly, and can only say that anyone who doesn't stay here hasn't experienced the very best accommodation Ubud has to offer.

My husband and I have had a love affair with Bali for many years, buying our Villa Sunrise on the beach in 2004, opening an Indonesian furniture and art gallery in Santa Fe New Mexico, organizing yoga and meditation retreats, and now having built our Villa in the ricefields of Ubud. Villa Semua Suka and Bungalow Jepun were built in 2011 to western standards with a Balinese esthetic. We have decorated the villa with high quality Balinese art, furniture and artifacts. Villa Sunrise, Villa Semua Suka and Bungalow Jepun are our 'homes' not 'hotels'........welcome Home!
