Interaction with Guests
We are often at home in Bali, and when we are....interact extensively with our guests who often become like members of our family.
Milo our pug is here when we are to entertain our guests as well.
The neighborhood is very convenient to everything in Ubud and is a microcosm of the best that Bali has to offer. A walk out to the rice fields will enable you to experience the daily life of the farmers in this agricultural community. Watch the ducks as they clean the rice fields and get them ready for a new crop; see locals washing their laundry in the streams; visit with local artisans in their homes and really get a sense of what Bali is all about!
There are cars and drivers that can be rented along the main road for trips into Ubud.
We also have a driver that can take you touring anywhere in Bali.
Some of our guests have opted to rent motor bikes or push bikes and that's something that we're able to arrange on their behalf.
We ask that you arrive before 4:00 pm as that is when Made' leaves for the day. If this is impossible we will need to make special arrangements.
Exactly as pictured and I only wish I could have stayed longer. I met both owners and they were down to earth and interesting people I hope to cross paths with in the future. The staff was great and made insanely delicious breakfasts to order. I will be back!
The bungalow in Ubud is a perfect home base for exploring all things Bali! The outdoor bath was the perfect end to trekking up Campuan Ridge, and Yellow Flower Cafe which is a 5 min walk provided the most delicious fried noodles. Pia (the staff at the bungalow) makes gourmet breakfast every morning, and Blue (the driver) is kind and goes out of his way to make your trip perfect. Barbara and Henry live on the bottom floor of the main house, and are eager to make you love Bali like they do. We loved our stay and would recommend it to others.
Great place and really good hosts, Barbara and Henry. They live in the same compound so they are very helpful with regard to the locality. Henry even ran us to the Medical Centre when I needed a doctor. Ubad is a very interesting place and the house is in a small village just on the outskirts. Note there are steps and a walk down when you go into town. I hadn't read the info properly but it wasn't a problem. We had a really interesting day with Blue the driver and I would recommend this, also the local massage just along the path.
We want to say Thank you for our fabulous stay in your villa!!!!!everything was absolutely awesome,we felt so "at home"- especially Pia,your made!she made our stay so comfortable and breathtaking-the breakfast was outstanding, the villa very clean!the area around the villa is typical balinese, calm and special (but positive!)!
Again:Thank YOU,your husband and Pia!!!
We hope,we will come back soon!!

Bungalow Jepun did not disappoint. We really enjoyed our stay. The villa staff was incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to help us out. As every other review has stated, Made Pia was truly wonderful. Her breakfast is very nice and she is very friendly and welcoming. Pia is also a great source of information, so you should use her as a source.
As a note, the only thing I wish I had known (or maybe read more before), but it would not have changed our decision, is that the villa is a little bit of a walk. You cannot access the villa by car, it's about a 10 minute walk from the road through winding back alleys. It is perfectly safe but there is no lighting so you must carry a flashlight (which are provided by the bungalow) and beware there will be plenty of creatures (e.g., bugs and toads and an occasional snake).
It was truly beautiful and an enjoyable experience.
What a great place to stay during our Bali holiday! The accomodations are fantastic - spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and a relaxing pool. We especially enjoyed our outside shower!
The location is perfect as you will not be in busy Ubud, but are a 20 minute walk to the markets. Great restuarants are located within a few minute walk...we especially enjoyed the Yellow Flower Cafe (organic and tasty).
We never met Barbara, but Pia was great. Her homemade black rice bread and papaya/chilli jam was to die for! Additionally, Blue and his family were able to take us around for some great sight-seeing at a good price. Highly recommended that you request he pick you up from your starting location as it may be difficult to find the bungalows.
When my wife and I return to Bali, we will be sure to stay here again!!

About the Host, Barbara
My husband and I have had a love affair with Bali for many years, buying our Villa Sunrise on the beach in 2004, opening an Indonesian furniture and art gallery in Santa Fe New Mexico, organizing yoga and meditation retreats, and now having built our Villa in the ricefields of Ubud.
Villa Semua Suka and Bungalow Jepun were built in 2011 to western standards with a Balinese esthetic.
We have decorated the villa with high quality Balinese art, furniture and artifacts. Villa Sunrise, Villa Semua Suka and Bungalow Jepun are our 'homes' not 'hotels'........welcome Home!
