We had a fantastic stay in a really interesting converted warehouse. We were made to feel at home and enjoyed all the artwork and special touches. I feel we needed to stay longer to enjoy everything! We celebrated our honeymoon there and were welcomed with a bottle of bubbly and chocolates - very special! A fantastic location too as it is just minutes from Brighton's great bars, beach and restaurants.
We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the property however. We understood not to expect hotel quality cleaning and furnishings however the level of cleanliness was as if it hadn't been cleaned for weeks. There were bowls full of cigarette ends outside in the courtyard and I was constantly brushing dirt off my feet and cautious of putting anything precious on surfaces. We have since spoken to Calandra about this and she has assured us that a cleaner was supposed to have visited before our arrival. I can only therefore assume it won't be a problem again. With the money we paid to stay, I'd have hoped it was double checked the cleaner had definitely been.
This however has not stopped us from wanting to return to the warehouse, we'd just make sure it had been cleaned before hand!
Great apartment in a central location. The rooms are really comfortable and everything was really clean. The space downstairs is fab for groups of friends to eat together/have drinks. Really great stay. Thanks!
Calandra was a lovely host and provided us with all the details we needed to get to her flat. She left us a list of things to know on the dining room table which was very helpful. The kitchen was stacked with coffee and tea and there was a Sainsbury around the corner for whatever other necessities we needed.
In Calandra's note, she mentioned her neighbour which was nice to know since we did see her in the backyard and wanted to say hello.
The flat itself was very cool! We had fun with the piano and the Dia de los Muertos decor! She left us clean towels, sheets and we felt very much at home. The location is also superb! Everything was within walking distance.
Our only complaint was with the noise from upstairs and from the street that could be heard from the two bedrooms facing the street (which is understandable). If you need absolute silence to sleep, I suggest sleeping in the master bedroom which was very, very quiet - with it's own ensuite.
Our visitors absolutely loved this apartment, I chose it because I thought it had so much character and was a real reflection of Brighton Culture, which is exactly what our visitors needed. They felt very much at home and slept very well! Thank you very much and we will 110% be in touch again when we have people down in Brighton :-)
