About This Listing
fully furnished very cosy, comfortable apartment with balcony and a fabulous view of the dome of St.Peters Basilic.10 mins walking distance to Vatican Square. Restaurants, shops all within easy reach. Public transport across the road. wifi/ yes
The area should really read Vatican area and not Aurelia...(see Via gregorio VII and Via delle Fornace.) as it is only a short walk to Vatican square. (about 12 mins)
This is a cute, clean, bright and cosy studio apartment with a superb view from the balcony of Michaelangelo's dome in Vatican City.
We are grateful to guests for helpful and constructive feedback. the hot water boiler has been changed and the bed too. ( YOU CAN NOW ENJOY PLENTY OF HOT WATER AND SLEEP VERY COMORTABLY ): The shower is not large but this is not unusual in Rome. ..part of the charm of a an old city is accepting the differences between modern and antique.
It is a cute, clean and sunny, fully furnished studio appartment. I call it "Pete's Pad" in addition from the balcony there is a magical view of Michael Angelo's dome, lit up at night and glowing against the skyline. Even more special it's in a quiet, cul- de- sac street without local traffic, (no parking fees either if you have a car) and a short walk to shops, markets, banks and P.O. The bus to the city is just across the road and there is a bar at the stop where you can have a cappucino and croisant in the Italian breakfast way. Bus leaves every 10 mins so your sure of a seat. Bus travels right through the city to the terminus at the other end. passing along, Corso Vittorio Emanuelle, Piazza Venezia, Via Nazionale...to stop at the main train station. (Stazione Termini) this means it is also an excellent connection for either of the Rome airports. both airports.
The apartment is fully equipped in a condominium building. Linen and towels are provided and you'lll find coffee and tea in the kitchen cupboard to warm your weary selves on arrival.
The building is a condominioum building with a porter. It has a double divan bed (very comfortable) I've heard it called the "draw bridge" by some Australian guests recently because of the slick Italian design. If you want a 3rd bed we can organize that too.
A large, very well stocked Supermaket is within walking distance and other local shops, butcher's shop, daily market groceries, post office, banks, bread shops, restaurants are again within walking distance..all this and more will make you feel truly "Roman" when you decide to stay in Rome.
The 64 bus ( just a few minutes walk away) has a very central route and will take you past the Vatican, (3 stops or 8/10 mins walk ) then it crosses the river goes along Corso Vittorio Emanuele to Largo Torre Argentina, Piazza Venezia, (get off there to stroll along the Via Foro Imperiale and find yourself at the Coloseum !) If you don't hop off there the bus takes Via Nazionale to finish in the piazza just in front of the main train (website hidden): “Stazione Termini”. Best thing is you can always get a seat when leaving home on this route because on this route buses leave every ten minutes...(not all are so regular) ticket E1.50 for 90 mins. or get a daily/weekly ticket (happy to give details when we meet)
Supermarkets, banks and P.O. within walking distance and several restaurants in the area. One even in the same street as of recently.
WIFI in the appartment.
Interaction with Guests
When the guests have internet on their phones I am always ready to help.
this is without doubt a very safe area. The station called "Stazione di San Pietro" is not a metro line. Originally the train line was built from inside the Vatican City to take the Pope on tour of Italy. As we well know today they use a helicopter or a limo. it was countryside in the early 1900's hence the quaint little street that you can see in the photos..ie: old country homes mixed with modern ones of today.
Is so simple. Bus across the road goes through the city to the main train station for metros or other buses in the main piazza. Connects well with airports for this reason. Passes all the most well known tourist sites on the way to town ... hard to beat this for a good area and still have thepeace and quiet of what seems like old Rome.
No smoking please and no pets..sorry.
A real "small "love nest" with a terrace giving to the dome of the basilica Saint-Peter. The apartment of Chiara is in a few minutes in feet of the center historic and very well served by the public transportation. The residential area slaves off the tourist hubbub and you find the clean relaxed rhythm of life of the Italian capital. We spent memorable week and this small haven of peace participated a lot in it!
Thank you so much Chiara and Trish. Jenna was made to feel so welcome. U went out of your way to make her stay comfortable. The apartment was perfect, close to shops etc. Thank you for all the assistance and valuable information provided. Your mom is a wealth of knowledge and help. So friendly. Much appreciated, will definitely book with you again. Vanessa

The host was available when we arrived, but her mother, Trisha, was very kind and helpful. The listing was as described on the inside. As advertised, there is a clear view of the dome of St. Peter's from the apartment balcony. The neighbourhood was a bit off-putting as there were overflowing garbage cans all down the lane. There was nearby bus service and a large grocery store just a few blocks away. There were also a number of restaurants on the nearby main street. It was a bit further from the usual tourist areas (across the Tiber), but an easy 20-minute walk to many other areas.
I was glad to be able to meet Anne and would definately recommend her as a perfect guest.
About the rubbish bins..!! I fully understand and agree how unactractive dirty bins in a street are but there is a new rubbish system for collection of same in Rome and unfortunately all the areas of Rome have not yet been covered with the new bins and trucks to take away the rubbish. The local council is doing it's best we are told.!! We hope they hurry up.
We had a fantastic 5 days in Rome made all the better by staying at Chiara's studio apartment.
The position was great ,close by transport both bus No 64 and train and also in walking distance of all major tourist spots.
We walked nightly into the Travestere and central Rome area to eat out all very safe and convenient.A supermarket and mini markets all around area as well if you wanted to self cater.
We were met by Ciara's friend Daniele who patiently waited as transport delays meant we were late. He made sure we felt very welcome explaining all we needed to know.
We highly recommend staying at Chiara's place great area felt so at home and not like a tourist Thank-you Chiara
Very cute apartment cosy with the most amazing balcony view !!!!!

About the Host, Chiara
Ciao, sono Chiara!
I like to travel and have always prefered private homes to hotels. I like to enjoy the real atmosphere of places and enjoy the local way of life.
I am very active person and like to exchange, share and socialize.
I like to meet positive and bright people who like to travel and spend their time not in expensive and formal hotels but in homes and enjoy their atmosphere just like I do. I am often away for work and having someone taking good care of my house when I am away makes me happy. My guests have always felt very welcome in my home and I have always welcomed them back when they have decided to return!
