"Pete's Pad" Vatican studio apt-

fully furnished very cosy, comfortable apartment with balcony and a fabulous view of the dome of St.Peters Basilic.10 mins walking distance to Vatican Square. Restaurants, shops all within easy reach. Public transport across the road. wifi/ yes

The Space

The area should really read Vatican area and not Aurelia...(see Via gregorio VII and Via delle Fornace.) and is only a short walk to Vatican square. (about 12 mins)

We are grateful to guests for helpful and constructive feedback so we're happy to say that the hot water boiler has been changed and the bed too. ( YOU CAN NOW ENJOY PLENTY OF HOT WATER AND SLEEP VERY COMORTABLY ):

It is a cute, clean and sunny, fully furnished studio appartment. I call it "Pete's Pad" in addition from the balcony there is a magical view of Michael Angelo's dome, lit up at night and glowing in the skyline. Even more special it's in a quiet, cul- de- sac street without local traffic, (no parking fees either if you have a car) and a short walk to shops, markets and restaurants...(details when you come) The bus to the city is just across the road and there is a bar at the stop where you can have a cappucino and croisant for breakfast... before getting on) Bus leaves every 10 mins so your sure of a seat. Bus travels right through the city to the terminus at the other end. passing along, Corso Vittorio Emanuelle, Piazza Venezia, Via Nazionale...to stop at the main train station. (Stazione Termini) this means it is also an excellent connection for either of the Rome airports. both airport buses terminate there.

The apartment is fully equipped in a condominium building. Linen and towels are provided and you'lll find coffee and tea in the kitchen cupboard to warm your weary selves on arrival.
The building is a condominioum building with a porter. It has a double divan bed (very comfortable) I've heard it called the "draw bridge" by some Australian guests recently because of the slick Italian design. If you want a 3rd bed we can organize that too.

A large, very well stocked Supermaket is within walking distance and other local shops, butcher's shop, daily market groceries, post office, banks, bread shops, restaurants are again within walking distance..all this and more will make you feel truly "Roman" when you decide to stay in Rome.

The 64 bus ( just a few minutes walk away) has a very central route and will take you past the Vatican, (3 stops or 8/10 mins walk ) then it crosses the river goes along Corso Vittorio Emanuele to Largo Torre Argentina, Piazza Venezia, (get off there to stroll along the Via Foro Imperiale and find yourself at the Coloseum !) If you don't hop off there the bus takes Via Nazionale to finish in the piazza just in front of the main train (website hidden): “Stazione Termini”. Best thing is you can always get a seat when leaving home on this route because on this route buses leave every ten minutes...(not all are so regular) ticket E1.50 for 90 mins. or get a daily/weekly ticket (happy to give details when we meet)

  • We had a lovely time staying at Pete's Pad. We found that we were near enough to walk to all the sites we wanted to see including the Vatican, the Colosseum, and the Forum. If you don't want to walk, it is near a bus stop that will take you all over the city.

The apartment itself is perfect for a couple, just enough room with all the amenities you need.

Trisha and Chiara were very helpful with all of our needs, wonderful hosts!

  • I spent nearly three weeks in Europe and stayed in another AirBnB flat in addition to many hotels -- and, by far, Chiara was the most accommodating and fantastic host of of each of the above. I pestered her almost daily with questions and she was responsive to each in a timely and thorough manner that far exceeded my expectations. She was kind and thoughtful and even reminded me to set my clock back for Italian daylight savings time (which I didn't know existed).

As for "Pete's Pad," the view and location is fantastic; Vatican City is a fifteen-minute walk from the flat. The building in which Chiara's flat is located is a large residential complex that can be somewhat noisy at expected times of day, but I was charmed by the slight commotion from the balcony: somebody skillfully playing a pan flute, a family singing "happy birthday" in Italian, etc. The amenities, all of which Chiara explained upon our arrival, were more than adequate. Speaking of which, she a rundown of nearby markets and bus stops that was immensely helpful. She even provided a bottle of champagne in addition to coffee and tea. Oh, and she booked a taxi to the airport for our return flight home.

If you're looking at a lot of places in Rome -- the list of which is seemingly endless -- and you've found "Pete's Pad" and Chiara, then you've already found where you should stay. The location strikes a nigh-perfect balance between local flavor and the obvious touristy activities and sights that no aspiring Roman should miss.

  • This apartment is amazing!!! I am happy i have chose it!!! Cozy room, nice balcony with fantastic view, a big supermarket near the apartment, a bus stop and etc. We have walked every day from the apartment to the center of Rome))) Love it, thank you, Trisha and Chiara!

Ciao, sono Chiara! I was born in Rome and live here. My mother is Australian, so that makes me "half" Australian too:) I work in Communications and I'm specialized in Media Relations and Press offices. Mostly in the Healthcare and medical sector, besides Culture and Lifestyle. I like to travel and have always prefered private homes to hotels. I like to enjoy the real atmosphere of places and enjoy local way of life. I practice Yoga and meditation. I am very active person and like to exchange, share and socialize. I am looking for positive and bright people who like to travel and spend their time not in expensive and formal hotels but in homes and enjoy their atmosphere just like I do. I am often away for work and having someone taking good care of my house when I am away makes me feel good. My guests have always felt very welcomed in my home and I have always welcomed them back when they have decided to return!
