  • Mike and Anna were great hosts. I would stay here again. Great location near the beach.

  • Positive side:
    - I made a last minute reservation and they were fine with it.
    - Mike and Anna are very nice hosts
    - Rooms are very clean
    - Great location near the beach
    - Common areas for socializing

    Down side:
    - To many rooms (feels like a business)
    - They put a lot of rules (just like a regular hotel)
    - THEY TURN OFF THE WI-FI AT 11 PM !!!!!!! (first time I ever see this ever)
    - Rooms aren't design for laptop use.

    Conclusion:
The place felt more like a regular guesthouse than an actual AirBnB local apartment experience. They really are nice people thought. The ad should have been one a web site like (website hidden) because it reflects the reality of the place. I guess they ended up posting a lot of rules because some guests have been reckless, but since I not that kind of guys it felt unwelcoming.

I still don't get why they turn off the WIFI after 11 pm. Another guest told me that it was because their server "overheats" at night but I don't buy that. The have something like 10 rooms and I feel that they should have enough revenue to offer an adequate WIFI service. Furthermore, they never told me about this and it's not written either on the airbnb add nor inside de guest house. I was quietly watching and movie on Netflix after a nice day at the beach with my earphones and it just felt frustrating to have a movie cut in half like that. I may sound geeky but, I felt that it's just like if they where turning off TV at 11pm to say bedtime. I just don't enjoy a dormitory experience.

    Response from Mike:

Wireless internet is available at least 17 hours a day. There has to be some downtime for the equipment. There is no strict cut-off for wireless internet. In the future, I will try to minimize downtime when it will least affects guests. I don't want to deprive guests of Wireless Internet. If wireless internet is off, you can mention it and I will get it up and running asap.

  • The Degands were very flexible with my check in and check out, which was a huge help (super friendly as well!). Room was clean and comfortable - and exactly what I was looking for. Plenty of towels and soap available too. Slept with the window open - what a treat!

  • I stayed here for the MS City to Shore ride. Mike offered me a great rate for the night. The room was exactly what I needed. Quaint, tidy and cozy. The communal bathroom and shower were well kept. The shower had great pressure and TONS of hot water. Considering they had a house full of sweaty, tired riders, this is a big deal! Mike was wonderful to deal with and SUPER accommodating to the specific needs of his guests this weekend. He woke up VERY early to unlock the storage area he had prepared specifically for all of our bikes, even though only a few of his guests were up that early. I will absolutely stay here next year on the ride and would absolutely consider staying here were I going to be in Ocean City for an actual weekend away. Oh, and the firm bed was a big plus for a weary cyclist.
