Everything was just as we expected and even more. Everything is clean and tidy. Very cosy apartment. Anything you need is in 3 min walk. Davide is very helpful and can give you a lift even if you don't ask. We spent amazing few days in Formia.
Thanks Davide and Formia for a nice part of our Italian vacation. We were staying in this place for 10 days in September 2013. The apartment is very comfortable, has everything you need and situated just in 200 meters from organized (umbrellas and deck chairs) sandy beach. Formia is very quite area but from the apartment is very easy to get to much more crowd and touristic Gaeta. Davide was very friendly and helpful with all the information.
A Lovely 1 bedroomed Groundfloor apartment with all the essentials you need. Davide is a very friendly and helpful host.
50m to supermarket and 300m to a wonderful beach which we swam in daily. We hired a car so got to see some of the treasures of the area including the town of gaeta., and the thermal springs in the mountains. Highly recommended. Matt
We had a great stay at Davide's place. The appartment is big and has everything you need.
The location is also very nice, however a bit out of town there is a supermarket, restaurants and the busstop nearby.
Davide did give us some usefull reccomodations where to go and to eat the specialities of the region.
Even when we had to go to the trainstation at 6 a.m. to go back home he gave us a ride there.
We have had a wonderful time at Davide's apartment in localita San Janni in Formia, south Latina province in Lazio. We had booked for three days and stayed for seven. The apartment is a newly renovated garden suite with all the modern conveniences - a full kitchen with sink and dishwasher, fridge, full cupboards and good counter space. The bedroom is large with lots of storage and next to an ensuite bathroom with lovely shower and even a washing machine. It has a small dining table and sofa/pull-out bed next to the kitchen, with a patio area right outside. The apartment is very quiet and cool, even on hot days, as it is on the garden level of a two-story 4-plex. Every morning we would wake to the sound of birds singing in the nearby gardens and see the lemons ripening on the trees. There is off-street parking. Davide was a very helpful host who speaks very good English and knows the area well - he checked with us every day to make sure we were having a good time and had everything we needed. The apartments location in the area of S. Janni, Formia is very good: we were about 100 m from the local Conad supermarket, 200 m from a very good Neapolitan restaurant, "Mare Chiara" (take-out pizza last night for E 5), 250 m from a large park with children's playground, and 300 m from a lovely 2 km long beach protected by break-waters. Every evening we would go for a walk along the beach and watch the 20 - 25 kite-surfers do their aerial tricks - very exciting. We were about three kilometres from the "Parco Naturali Regionali" of 'Gianola e Monte di Scauri' which had kilometres of trails, an old Roman fish-farm and port, and a complex of Roman buildings and cisterns (for water storage) all overlooking the glistening Tyrrhenian Sea (Mare Tirreno). At the edge of the park is the excellent 'Ristorante la villetta' set in beautiful lawns and gardens where we had delicious local seafood caught just that day. The apartment is located about 15 minutes by car from the very pretty town of Gaeta; we also went on day trips to Sperlonga, just south of which is the museum of Villa of Tiberius, the beaches near Terracina, and walked 4 km on the "via Appia Antica" near the upland town of Itri. Everywhere we went, the local people made us feel welcome - as we tried our very poor bits of Italian, they happily welcomed us in English. We would strongly encourage anyone wanting to see a real part of Italy, not tired of and overrun by foreign tourists, to come to Formia and the "Riviera d'Ulisse" (the Riviera of Ullyses) and stay at Davide's apartment.
This was our first time using AirBnB and if everyone is like Davide, we are spoiled happy!! Davide totally saved us from being in another a place nearby that was not up to par. He was fast, responsive, came to pick us up and helped us transfer to his apartment, made us feel right at home, and treated us not just like a host, but like family, including cooking delicious local dinners for us on several occasions and taking us to the many and beautiful archeological sites in the surroundings. His place is perfect for 2 people (might be a bit tight for 3 people, but doable), and we even had our dog with us - lots of space for him too. Davide's place is clean, quiet, comfortable, has a fantastic roof-top view of Gaeta, and very close to the beach of Santo Janni/Formia (2-3 min walk), and to the local supermarket, which came in handy. The only hiccup is we had to buy our own toilet paper, soap and towels at the nearby supermarket, but only because Davide's place is so new it was not yet furbished with the last details. We left him the (2 big purple) towels as a gift and hope many of you out there will enjoy them, too. We checked out other places between Gaeta/Minturno and Davide's is by far the best.
What's also great about Davide's place is that it is not only super comfortable & clean, it is also very eco-green conscious in the way the water heating and the rain-water capture/distribution is designed. Loved it all and would be happy to go back!!
