You can come and enjoy nature at ours. We have set up an cozy holiday house for you where you can spend a relaxing holiday. The cottage is located in the middle of the wooded mountains of Monchique. An ideal starting point for hiking. From the town of Monchique, a tarmac road leads into the mountains to the top of our valley. From there it goes on a dirt road further down into a peaceful valley to our organic farm with fruit trees, chickens and goats.
The space
The farmhouse gives a spatial impression when you step inside. It is equipped with every comfort. There is a modern kitchen and bathroom and a wood burning stove to make it comfortable. In front of the cottage on the terrace, with a view over the mountains, you can enjoy the sun. In the valley below you can hear our clear stream babbling. A place to completely unwind.
Guest access
Of course the whole holidayhouse is yours, during your stay, but feel also free to walk around on our land. Have a look at our goats, relax in our orchard, or walk through the wild land.
Other things to note
The location is deep in the valley and the road that leads down into the quiet valley is steep. At the top of our land we have created a parking place where you can park your car safely.
As soon as we know that you are there we will help you to bring the luggage down with our 4WD. That way we can bring all your luggage to the holiday home.
From the house you can walk up the mountain to and from the car. It is a short walk with a beautiful view.
The nearest supermarket is not too far away, in Monchique, about 6 km. If you are unable to do your shopping before arrival, don't worry, we offer a modest survival package for a small meal and breakfast upon arrival.
Good walking shoes and a flashlight are also handy.
Although the number of insects is usually not too bad, it is still good to bring along e.g. anti-mosquito spay or cream. The beds are fitted with mosquito nets.
Keep in mind that it can cool down in the mountains in the evenings, even in the summer. Take something warm with you to put on.
Since 2024 we have excellent WIFI, and nowadays there's also 4G reception on our land.

Visit the nice mountain town of Monchique, 6 km away. A visit to the Moorish city of Silves is also worthwhile. And the beautiful Costa Vicentina nature reserve is a must for hikers.
The Serra de Monchique is a beautiful walking area. Various walks have been plotted. The local tourist office can tell you everything about it. At the farm we have information about some hiking routes available. For connoisseurs: the GR 13 runs a few kilometers from us through the Serra de Monchique. There are also very nice walking routes along the west coast of Portugal. Furthermore, the Algarve is of course known for its beaches. We prefer the beaches on the west coast during the summer months because they are less crowded in the summer. With children it might also be an option to use the free open swimming pool in Monchique. This is open during the warm months. Monchique also has a lot to offer in the culinary field. There are good restaurants, we are happy to advise you on this.

Tom and Monique did a Permaculture Design course in 2012 and you can see that more and more on their organic farm. At Terradomilho, Tom mainly focuses on growing perennial plants (especially salvia's) and trees. Tom is also a comedian in the Netherlands at the cabaret group De Gemeentereiniging. Monique takes care of and milks our goats, and she makes goat cheese.
