  • Overall excellent experience staying with Judy for 1 week. Place was super clean, super close to the downtown and the Metro, and host Judy is super nice and got a heck of a life story. She was also really flexible with my weird messed up delayed flight schedule. Recommend you book here.

  • Judy is an absolute delight. She very friendly and has a great knowledge base of the area! Her apartment has a warm cozy welcoming feel. It is in the perfect location for those working at Walter Reed or surrounding areas and just a quick metro ride to the D.C area. The room is comfortable and quiet.

  • I had a great experience staying with Judy for 2 months while working at the Walter Reed hospital. She was very welcoming and helpful with orienting to the neighborhood and surrounding areas. The apartment had everything I needed for a long term stay. The location is minutes from grocery stores, tons of restaurants and the Bethesda metro station (25 min ride to downtown DC).

  • I booked the room but it was my Mother that stayed in the room. This is her review:

My stay with Judy was very pleasant. I was there for almost 3 weeks.
The room was very nice, clean, bright. Everything you may need is there.
Judy is very nice, helpful and personable. My stay was enjoyable and having never used AirBNB, I was quite pleasantly surprised! I would most definitely recommend AirBNB and Judy to everyone.

  • Judy is a great host - makes you feel very at home! The room is comfortable and the flat is a lovely place to stay.
Bethesda as an area is a perfect location - there are lots of good places to eat and it feels very safe. It is very close to the metro and on the red line, which is DC's main metro line, so ideal to get about the city.
    Would recommend staying here!

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Judy's! Although fairly small the apartment is clean, tidy, comfy and cosy as well as the available room which is the ideal size for a comfortable stay. And Judy is a great landlady who made me feel at home from day one. Judy is also fun to talk to and has become a good friend. Certainly recommended!

  • This was my first experience with Airbnb and my first time in USA and it was great! Judy helped me everytime I asked and when I didn't too. Before arriving she gave some advices to get there from the airport, and the most special thing: my first day where a big problem with Metro and she helped me to get on time on my office in Downtown DC.
I really enjoy those 2 months with Judy, it was just like home. She always have a story to tell, and also time to hear yours stories.
And about the room, it´s a clean place, comfortable (I miss the pillows). You have enough space for your stuff in the kitchen, in the bathroom... And finally, if you enjoy coffe, Judy has an amazing espresso machine!

  • I spent 4 unforgettable months in Judy's home. All comments that I had read on Judy's profile were true (characteristics on the bedroom, no problem at all to share common spaces, ... convenient location of the flat : near subway, nice restaurants..etc but also on her personnality : I can not explain how helpful she was and how enriching my experience in Judy's home was!! I confirm she likes watching films and opera! I was very pleased to share these moments with her. I missed some habits that I had there...and all her stories...and the confortable bed and the hot climate!

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Judy's while I completed a legal internship with an organization in D.C.. Judy was a great host. We share an interest in movies, particularly foreign films, and spent hours talking about them. We even trekked to the local cinema, Judy's favorite, to see a couple of films. There is an abundance of restaurants in Bethesda, and Judy can lead you to some of the best. I looked forward, after returning from a long day of work in D.C., to sitting down with Judy and a Pelligrino water and discussing the events of our days. In fact, Judy's whole life story is very interesting. The apartment is convenient to the Metro, so I went anywhere I wanted easily and there are Zipcars right across the street which I used to take a trip to George Washington's home in Mt. Vernon, a beautiful drive and wonderful experience. Bethesda is a great location for getting to experience a lot of American history with easy access to D.C., great restaurants of all varieties many with sidewalk seating, a bike trail that leads all the way to Georgetown in D.C., movie theaters, and wonderful people. There's even an Aveda salon nearby (I highly recommend Garagin, recommended to me by Judy.) and a Paper Source -- two of my favorite places. My favorite restaurants in Bethesda were Luke's Lobsters (Maine lobster sandwiches), Le Pain Quotidien (French organic), Uncle Julios's (Mexican), Kraze Burgers (best turkey burgers and whole grain buns), and Judy's favorite chicken place Le Pollo something or other--grilled chicken, black beans, white rice, potato salad with beets, plaintains, and two fresh sauces for $7. Yum! With a great host like Judy and a great location and a great price, you can't go wrong. Book today!

I moved to the DC area in the fall of 2008 from Los Angeles where I had lived for 10 years. Before moving to LA, I lived in Hamburg, Germany for 30 years, where my daughter was born and raised. I have hosted guests for many years from countries like Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Czech Rep., France, Martinique,Italy, India and the USA! I look forward sharing my home with you, too. I enjoy music, film and reading. I love Bethesda for its flair and DC for all of the great galleries, historical sites, theaters and museums.
