Mews Cottage is situated within the small picturesque town of Middleton-in-Teesdale, located in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage sleeps five and offers an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside, with walking routes right on the doorstep.

The cottage is in a quiet, secluded courtyard, with its own parking space and is a short walk to shops, pubs and cafes.

High Force waterfall is a short drive away, as is the popular market town of Barnard Castle.

The space
Mews Cottage offers three bedrooms, a double, twin and single, a full kitchen with oven, fridge, microwave and washing machine. The cosy living room features a sofa and armchair and has a television with integrated DVD player.
There is a downstairs bathroom, with bath and shower.
The cottage also has broadband internet and wifi.

There are plenty of attractions within a short drive of the cottage, such as High Force, which is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in England. The popular market town of Barnard Castle is a twenty minute drive away and features pubs, restaurants, golf course as well as the ruins of the castle itself.

Raby Castle is a popular tourist destination, with lots to do, including walks around the grounds, children's adventure forest and boutique shops.

Nearby Grassholme reservoir offers a host of activities, such as fishing, paddleboarding and other watersports . There is even an observatory offering tours of the night sky.

The North Pennines is recognised as the darkest mainland AONB in the country. In the North Pennines you’ll see thousands of stars overhead compared to only a handful in towns and cities.

The picturesque town of Alston in Cumbria is a short drive away, as is equally scenic Weardale, which offers railway journeys and the iconic Killhope Mining museum.
