Here are a few simple instructions regarding the hot tub, septic tank, heating etc - please take the time to read them.
1.The HEATING AND HOT WATER are on continuously . The heating can be turned up or down by adjusting the thermostat on the wall in the kitchen. There are thermostats on the radiators if you wish to control individual room temperatures. There is a switch for the immersion heater in the en-suite bedroom although it is unlikely you will need it.
2.The cottage is served by a SEPTIC TANK TREATMENT CENTRE. Please do not flush anything except human waste and small quantities of toilet tissue. Anything else may block the system - this will result in the loss of your deposit. Use the bins provided for sanitary towels etc.
3. Please do not use the BARBECUE on the decking – keep it on the stones.
4. There is an IRONING BOARD in the first drawer on the left in the kitchen – just pull the drawer out gently, firmly and fully. The iron is in the cupboard underneath
5.Remember – this is a SELF-catering cottage – please leave it clean and tidy.
THE HOT TUB
This is a sensitive piece of equipment so there are some basic rules to observe please.
1.The 4 S’s – NO SUNSCREEN
AND NO SEX!
All these will mess up the filters and water and make the tub unusable - if this happens a charge of £25 will be made against your deposit to cover the cost of draining, cleaning and refilling.
2.Please RINSE OUT your costume and SHOWER without soap/shampoo before using the tub – to remove any soap residue.
3. Please do not use real GLASSES if having a drink in the tub – there are
some blue polycarbonate ‘glasses’ in one of the kitchen cupboards.
4. The chemical balance of the water will be checked during your stay. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this might cause.
5. VERY IMPORTANT - after approximately each 30-60 minutes of use, remove the filter cover, press the button next to "clean" on the home screen and add a capful of chlorinating concentrate provided to the filter compartment. The tub will run for 10mins and switch itself off.
6.The controls are very straightforward – please read the quick reference guide provided.
7.YOUNG CHILDREN ARE ESPECIALLY SENSITIVE TO THE EFFECTS OF HOT WATER.
DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO USE THE TUB UNLESS CLOSELY SUPERVISED.
LOCK THE CHILDPROOF LOCKS WHEN THE TUB IS NOT IN USE IF CHILDREN ARE AROUND.
DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN ON THE TUB COVER.
The cottage was amazing, even better than we imagined! It offered all the facilities you could need and Adam and Ann had even left a hamper full of goodies! Perfect for our girls weekend away we enjoyed the tub and got out to explore the local area. We walked into Audlem where there are a number of great pubs and enjoyed a local folk festival. Although we never met Adam and Ann they where great hosts and helped with directions when we got lost!! Will definitely be back!
We've just returned from a glorious weekend at Badgers and already cannot wait to go back!
Adam and Ann were the perfect hosts - there for us when we needed them but left us to our own devices otherwise. The welcome basket was thoughtful and lovely plus the information regarding local shops, restaurants etc. was much appreciated.
The house itself is fantastic - in a great secluded spot but near enough to shops etc. to still be convenient. The hot tub is the best I've experienced in a place like this and the other facilities were ideal. The perfect spot for a weekend away with friends or family and I'll definitely be going back! Thank you!
What a gem! We stayed here to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday and it was fabulous! We were warmly welcomed by Adam who made us feel at home straight away. There was a complimentary basket of goodies in the kitchen to welcome us too, which was such a lovely touch. Every room was delightful with quality soft furnishings and everything you could possibly need. The bedding and towels were particularly lovely; and the beds were so comfortable.
The hot tub was a brilliant addition and is perfectly situated for watching the sunsets. Even beach towels were provided to use when hot-tubbing which was really helpful. We all said we would love to return to this idylic spot. Thanks so much Adam and Ann.
Wow, what a wonderful home! I have been to UK several times but this is the first time staying in a country home. It is beautifully decorated and in a great location. I love the sound of cows every morning & the sights of sheeps in the neighbourhood. My husband & two teenage sons loved it there. We prepared our own meal everyday. We just felt at home there. Cheshire Country cottage and hot tub was incredibly comfortable and conveniently located to Trentham Garden where my son's award ceremony was held. The house was not only beautiful, it was very well equipped with anything you could ever need for the stay. The kitchen had everything like home and Adam & Ann Dutton was kind enough to provide eggs, milk and cerelas on our arrival. There was also a large collection of books and television in all rooms to keep you entertained in the house if the weather outside is not up to scratch!
Adam was also very helpful and easy to communicate with from the time I booked the stay until after we left. The only set back it didnt have an internet but I guess the place is meant for a total holiday with peace & not for work! I really recommend this place.
We are a professional couple (a doctor and an oral hygienist), fortunate enough to live in a lovely part of Cheshire on a smallholding of 35acres which we look after in our 'spare' time. We have a horse livery business and also run cattle and sheep on the land. Ann is keen on keeping fit, riding and sailing, Adam on shooting and sailing. We both enjoy skiing. We have both been very involved in the extensive renovation of our last three houses and of this holiday cottage. Favourite travel destinations? - the Greek Islands and the USA mean most to us. We have two grown-up children - one a vet, the other an actor - and 2 young grandchildren.
We have tried to make our holiday cottage somewhere we would be happy to stay ourselves - fresh, warm, dry and comfortable - and we think we have succeeded.
