About this listing
Located within the so-called Golden Square mile, Montreal's trendiest area, this recently renovated apt Situated within walking distance from the trendy bars, restaurants and shops around Crescent Street.
The building itself offers residents a wealth of facilities, including a 20' waterfall in the grand courtyard, outdoor pool, a gym, as well as a party room, a roof-top terrace, an in-house grocery store and a dry cleaner.
The well designed modern apartment is accessible using the building's elevator and offers a fully equipped kitchen complete with a breakfast counter; a small dining area, a living/ bedroom area with a separate work-space and a restroom with a bath and shower cable TV, Internet and wireless Internet, heating and air conditioning also form integral parts of the excellent facilities offered.
The location of the unit was very good but the unit was quite neglected and it was not clean. Here are some hard facts:
.There is a water leak in the kitchen ceiling and wall that has not been repaired
. A full large drawer in the kitchen is missing making the kitchen look shabby.
. The fridge is very noisy making people sleeping in the living room very uncomfortable.
. The bathroom walls next to tub are flaky and full of mould.
. The balcony has only 2 steel chairs that are dirty and rusty.
. The unit is advertised for 4 people but when we got there, there were only 2 towels; but after complaining the host did send 2 more towels. You wouldn't expect to have to do so.
. The unit was not clean. The dishes and utensils needed to be cleaned as well as the floors even though the guests pay a cleaning fee.
Overall, the photos on the website do not reflect the unit.
The host was courteous to answer our messages. We did not have a problem with the host but we were disappointed by the unit.
For the same price, I had previously rented from Airbnb in Montreal in as good location and even better, a much nicer unit and much cleaner unit.
I'm a photographer and was in town to shoot some locals. The space was nice ans large and very close to shopping and great food. The grounds also had a waterfall and outdoor and indoor pool and hotub. Great value for money. Host was also accessible when needed. Onsite parking $20/ night. Would definitely stay here again.
Hakim was prompt and a great communicator. My wife was coming into Montreal for a friend's global martial arts tournament, and needed a place near Mcgill, The apartment was perfect for her needs. Hakim has everything arranged for key pick up and drop off. the apartment is exceptional value for the price!
This place served it's purpose. The location is perfect and the place is good enough. Not exceptionally clean. The couch folds into a bed, but it's really uncomfortable. Bottom line, it was cheaper than a hotel room and had a kitchen, living room, balcony and communal pool (didn't use it), but don't expect a luxurious apartment. For $20 extra per night, you can park in the lot which is helpful downtown.
Hankim was great facilitating our needs. We arrived early and he was able to provide an early check in. Walking distance to shops, main street and train. It was a safe area and easy to get around. Close to the museum of fine arts. We had a great time enjoying the pool as well as the balcony. Great space for 3 to 4 people. The Sofa bed is contactable enough for 2 average size people. We where 4 girls sharing the apt. our only restriction was lighting. Some lamps worked and some did not but we did have a lot of mirrors which is great for girls. Overall the place is comfortable, great location and I would stay there again.
Overall, our family had a good time in our one-week stay in Montreal and would like to thank Hakim for hosting us.
The main negative was the suite was not particularly suitable for our family of four guests, including one elder. The bed provided for two of our guest in the living room was a small sofa-bed that was uncomfortable and unfit for more than one people to sleep on; the quilts/blankets not enough for our four guests....when requested, only towels and a sheet brought in on the following day... As the result, two of our guest had to move to other hotel since the first day we arrived.
Hakim was responsive and very direct in communications leading up to our stay. We did not meet him as upon arrival he had us check in with the building’s concierge. When we picked up the keys, the concierge said that someone had made a “surprise check-in” the night before and so he only had two keys to the apartment and suggested we knock before entering to make sure there wasn’t a tenant in the unit. Two keys was plenty for us, but it was a little unsettling that a third was missing because someone may have stayed there the night before. No one was there and it was all made up so we brushed this off.
The apartment is fine and is for the most part, as picture. We felt like it could have been cleaner and there were some things missing, but nothing to make a big fuss about or anything that could ruin a trip. For example, there was only one cup in the kitchen, the shower curtain liner is ripped up and the tub drain is very slow. There is a gym in the building and we used it, but it is different from the one pictured. The location is particularly good if you want to be near downtown and McGill University.
Everything worked out fine for us here, but we would likely stay elsewhere next time.
