Pleasant apartment block. Very safe neighbourhood and relatively close to the metro and bars/restaurants/shops for those happy with a short walk.
Didn't meet Hakim, but the key was to be picked up from the doorman. Unfortunately he wasn't there at the time I arrived but the office was open and able to help and gave me the key and I returned it to the doorman when I left so no real problem.
Communication in advance with Hakim was fine.
Apartment was not as bright(some lights didn't work/bulb missing) or clean(e.g. dirty hob and lots of scuffs on the wall, damaged paintwork) as hoped and there's some damage to the wall next to the bath where it looks like it has been mouldy or had water damage previously. Dry now but still a bit unsightly.
There are quite a lot of scuff/marks on the wall or bits where the paint has is slightly damaged or that haven't been cleaned as well as they could be. Needs a bit of TLC.
Some items in the picture weren't present(e.g. the reg rug, cushions, ornaments) and make it a little less welcoming but nothing too fundamental.
Fridge makes a loud noise at times, louder than the typically hum you expect.
Wifi is very slow. Ran a check on wifi speed and it was 1.2Mbs for the download speed. Upload speed slower.
An ok stay, but could have been improved with a bit more attention given to the apartment and as such was perhaps my most disappointing stay with AirBnB yet-the rest have been good.

Pros: Close to St. Catherine St. ; mini balcony for enjoying the fresh air ; full refrigerator and kitchen with all the cooking tools ; modern design ; underground parking for $20.
Cons: **BED BUGS** My wife noticed moving red dots when she woke up the first morning and told me about it. She killed it and it left a trail of blood on the bedsheet and pillows. I thought it was just a spider so we ignored it but she was paranoid so we switched sides of the bed to sleep the next night. I woke up the next morning with bites on my FACE, arms, neck, legs and feet. Then I started searching and saw one moving about on my pillow so I took pictures of it and made a video of it with his room in the background.
Overall it was a nice place and I would definitely stay here again if Hakim has a chance to call the exterminator to kill these bed bugs. I don't blame Hakim at all because he can't control the guests that rents out his apartments.
The place is more run down that the pictures appear, but for the price and location it was good for our stay. Being in the heart of downtown and having a beautiful view was very nice.
The location of the unit was very good but the unit was quite neglected and it was not clean. Here are some hard facts:
.There is a water leak in the kitchen ceiling and wall that has not been repaired
. A full large drawer in the kitchen is missing making the kitchen look shabby.
. The fridge is very noisy making people sleeping in the living room very uncomfortable.
. The bathroom walls next to tub are flaky and full of mould.
. The balcony has only 2 steel chairs that are dirty and rusty.
. The unit is advertised for 4 people but when we got there, there were only 2 towels; but after complaining the host did send 2 more towels. You wouldn't expect to have to do so.
. The unit was not clean. The dishes and utensils needed to be cleaned as well as the floors even though the guests pay a cleaning fee.
Overall, the photos on the website do not reflect the unit.
The host was courteous to answer our messages. We did not have a problem with the host but we were disappointed by the unit.
For the same price, I had previously rented from Airbnb in Montreal in as good location and even better, a much nicer unit and much cleaner unit.
I'm a photographer and was in town to shoot some locals. The space was nice ans large and very close to shopping and great food. The grounds also had a waterfall and outdoor and indoor pool and hotub. Great value for money. Host was also accessible when needed. Onsite parking $20/ night. Would definitely stay here again.
