About this listing
Comfortable home with friendly hostess. 5 mins drive to CBD and main beach. 25 minutes walk to back beach through national park. Byron Bay is a major tourist destination because of its fantastic weather, beaches and ambience! A great place to relax!
My house is open plan with 2 available bedrooms for rent. One has a queen size bed and the other a single bed. I also have a room in the house but am not here much and not in the evenings. It is a fairly quiet area about 5 minutes drive to the main town and beach. Come and join the Byron Bay Stringrays every morning to swim the bay and have coffee at the Beach Hotel. Enjoy the lush green hinterland and small local villages and markets. Watch the dolphins surf the famous right hander at "The Pass."
There is a back beach called Tallows which is a little wilder and can be accessed via a walk through national park, which takes about 25 minutes. Lots of people cycle here and it takes about 15 mins on a bike to town. The township of Byron caters for tourists and has many restaurants and cafes. Public buses run from the main coast road (7 mins walk) into town and takes 10 mins. We have a beautiful hinterland with many small villages and scenic views. A short drive away, we have the national parks of Lamington and Border Ranges exhibiting some of our beautiful, lush rainforest.
You will have use of all facilities including large, well stocked kitchen and verandah overlooking garden and your own bathroom with bath. There is a piano for all you budding musicians!
Interaction with Guests
The interaction with guests is totally up to them. I am available to chat, help or drive them to town sometimes. If they don't want me around, I will disappear to my partners place around the corner! I will ask guests on their arrival what they prefer or they can let me know via email before they come.
The neighbourhood is quiet and just the right amount of distance out of a busy little town. The only traffic is local as our street is a dead end. We have a great new coffee shop on the corner about 7 mins walk away!!
Public buses run along the main coast road. I have bicycles you can borrow or it takes about 45 mins to walk into town.
I am very conscious of preserving our environment by using only what is needed. I would like people to turn off appliances and lights when not in use and be water conscious. Australia is the driest continent on the planet! Shoes must be taken off on the verandah before entering the house. No animals allowed and no smoking or drug taking on the property at all. I expect people to clean up after themselves and when leaving, strip the sheets off the bed please. No excessive noise after 11pm or before 8am. Thank you
