The host was very accommodating to us with a last minute rental. However, the home was not properly prepared prior to arrival (beds were not made) which was somewhat frustrating. She did have cleaning people come the next day, but putting the beds together seems like an obvious thing to do. I even offered her a name of someone who could come help clean and she chose not to hire that person at the expense of my guests first night experience. Not cool.
We were happy to accommodate your party last minute and I’m surprised you are concentrating on the bed making detail in a property review. Normally, our make-readies require at least 48 hours notice so that our regular cleaning staff can be scheduled. Hiring someone else that is not familiar with the property to come in and prepare the rental is not always a simple thing: it requires time and planning to have new staff come in and with the last minute reservation, that was just not a possibility. We prioritized our cleaning efforts and made sure the bathrooms were clean, floors swept, kitchen cleaned and the lawn and porch were tended to. The beds were made with the comforters so they looked very nice upon arrival and I provided clean sheets for your co-workers - conditions upon arrival far exceeded standards of acceptability. The professional make-ready was then completed the next morning, as promised, when our staff was available. I trust that your co-workers had an excellent week at the Bungalow otherwise and thank you for your feedback
Highly recommended. SoCo location provides a perfect homebase for walking, biking, cabbing around Austin. Great cafés, restaurants, and music. House is very clean and well maintained, good air conditioning, and tastefully decorated. Washer and dryer is a big plus. We would definitely stay here again.
Awesome little place in a great area. Walkable to 1st & Congress fun, and a short drive to everywhere else. Nice outside patio/sunporch to hang out.
Host was great! She responded to my questions and was very accomodating to me and my 4 friends. She even had pastries, milk and orange juice waiting for us upon our arrival!
Location was very good. It's a 10 minute walk (if that) to SoCo and all the bars/shops. Downtown was an easy 30 minute walk and perfect late night walking distance to burn off some extra calories.
The house itself was as described. Cozy, but with enough room to for 5 professional guys to feel comfortable. We stayed Thurs-Sun and didn't notice any noise coming from the construction.
I'd certainly recommend and stay here again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bouldin Creek bungalow. The house truly was very charming, extremely neat and clean, and in a wonderful location. We were greeted with milk and juice in the fridge, lots of fresh fruit, and croissants on the counter. We would stay here again but be advised that there are train tracks close by if you are a light sleeper. Kat was a wonderful host, very responsive, and a pleasure to work with. Thanks for making our time in Austin so memorable!
The house was adorable and even cuter in person. It was perfect for the 4 of us and Kat has thought of every last detail. She was super helpful and a pleasure to work with. We loved the food trucks in the neighborhood- Torchy’s Tacos and Gordough’s Donuts are must trys. Congress was a short walk with great shops and restaurants. Looks like a new coffee shop will soon open just down the street.
We stayed with Kat for 3 months, and I can't imagine it going any better! She was an attentive host who was always quick with a reply if we had any questions. She left a list of suggestions for us upon arrival with many of the places being within walking distance.
The birdhouse was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. I love Kat's sense of style and decoration. Anything we required was accessible and I love it that there is a washer and dryer as well.
The location was also prime. It is easy to walk to Congress street or Lady Bird trail. If you have a bicycle, you can ride down to the lake and start the trail from there. You are also close to interstates, multiple grocery stores, the mall and downtown if you wish to drive.
The whole experience with Kat was great, and I would certainly suggest you stay with her during your Austin experience.
Very nice space! We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to book again for our next Austin trip. The home was so much better a hotel. Sure a hotel is a little cheaper but this home was welcoming, clean, and unlike a hotel, you could cook, sit in the living area and chat, and enjoy the sunlit patio with your morning coffee. There is also a washer and dryer which was nice. Perfect getaway! Book it!
Our 2nd year staying in your cottage and it's still as wonderful as ever! Excellent communication and very helpful. Great working with you again Kat and we look forward to next year :-) All the best!
Such a nice host, everything was great!
