  • This is a nice and cheap place. The family was very friendly. I recommend this place for backpackers :-)

  • Matt and his family were amazingly accommodating and friendly. It was a really mellow place even with other travelers coming through because all the guests were treated like family. I was lucky enough to be around for the Bleach festival and the Quickie Pro which were both awesome times, and the family really helped with some local knowledge of the area. I hope that I am able to get back to the house one more time in my next year here in Australia. Cheers

  • Jaqui, was very flexible and relaxed which facilitated the humorous conversations we had and reflected the whole atmosphere of the accommodation. A wonderful place to stay with great company.

  • Matt's house is great. Really large downstairs area and fantastic shower. Our trip was very brief but the pool looked lovely and the beach is very close.
Friendly and welcoming hosts in a chilled environment. Would recommend staying here.

  • This was the coolest little hidden spot in Tugun! Jaquie is absolutely amazing warm hearted and makes everyone feel at home. The space is kept clean fairly private and has a great happy vibe everywhere. The pool is clean and surrounded by awesome little gardens and funky places to lounge while you try to stay out of the sun! I wish we never had to leave.

  • Matt's place was a great place to stay. It was relaxed & friendly & also near the airport & beach which is fantastic for travelers. Jacquie was looking after things while Matt was away & she does a really good job of making sure everyone is comfortable & has what they need. I even went with her to the beach to take the dogs Ringo & Rubie for a walk!

I stayed in the dorm which was basic yet comfortable. Much more relaxed & homely than a standard hostel without the party crowd. There's a pool & a balinese hut as well for relaxing in, which was a highlight as Queensland's weather suits being outdoors most of the year.

Overall I had a most enjoyable stay & recommend Matt & Jacquie's place to fellow travelers whether for a night or longer. Thanks Jacquie :)
