When we walked in the door, we were blown away by how big and open the living room and kitchen area are! The living room has a cozy sofa, and all the countertops and tables are modern, clean, and beautiful. The shower is also awesome.
There were only two of us this weekend, but there are three bedrooms in the house, and we'll come with more people next time and hang out on the roof deck when it's warmer. We cooked a big brunch and dinners both days and spent our time exploring during the day.
The Rio Nido Roadhouse is a block away, so be prepared to rock on Saturday nights. We opened the windows, and even popped in for the last few songs of the final set.
Do note the house is not in downtown Guerneville. It's a quick drive, but it would be a long walk.
Love the area, loved the house, we'll be back!
Great time, comfy house! Johnny and the housekeeper were very friendly and accommodating, even opening up an empty house next door to give us an extra bathroom on New Years Eve. The house has a very well-equipped kitchen, nice bathroom, and separate heat controls for every room. Rio Nido is a funky little village about a mile from the slightly larger town of Guerneville. We were welcomed at the Rio Nido Roadhouse, about 200 yards from the house, and we went there for live music two nights of our stay.
The house is well equipped for a nice weekend getaway. We had a great time. The location is good, right next to a fun bar and a close walk to the river. Thanks Johnny!
Johnny came through at the last minute for me. We were in Guerneville without a place to stay at 6pm, and by 7pm we were settling in to the Russian River Paradise.
The house was lovely. Comfortable beds, large shower, spacious kitchen, awesome deck, fantastic grill, and everything was immaculately clean.
We had a wonderful time with Johnny and I hope to come back again.
Wonderful house in a central location. We discovered a nice hike up the one-way looped street behind the house that leads to a fire road where you're near the ridge and can go for a long time. The rio Nido roadhouse has a busy Labor Day weekend with music and Rolling Stones cover band. The accommodations are spacious and bathroom is large and convenient. There's a single toilet too so having 6 of us didn't make getting ready a long chore. Kitchen is open to living room and was perfect for cooking dinner. We were minutes to downtown guerneville and had dinner at Hi Five (now called pat's) and Onoz, a Hawaiian place. Both were good. Duncan Mills was a cute shopping complex just further west. We stopped at sunset beach and monte rio beach - both are good swimming spots. Armstrong redwood reserve has amazing hikes that are strenuous for non hikers. Beautiful vistas.
This house was amazing. We had a seven person group (all fairly large guys) and there was more than enough room. The interior has obviously been remodeled somewhat recently as all the accommodations are much more modern than the quaint cottage-like exterior look. The kitchen comes fully stocked with everything you'd need and the outdoor deck (with a good size BBQ) was a great addition as it is shadowed by some giant beautiful trees. But even with the "secluded" woodsy feel this house is an easy and short walk to the Russian river, as well as a local bar/restaurant that had some great live music going one night.
Johnny was a great host, and though I never met him he provided an extra air mattress for no additional charge (granted the size of our group). He also supplied the number of a neighbor should any problems arise. She was also incredibly helpful, for when we locked ourselves out she provided entry back in to the house no problem
Overall I give this rental a five out of five. It's got it all, space, location, amenities, and helpful caretakers to boot!
Great house in a relaxing quiet setting. Short 5 minute drive to downtown Guernville and 10 minutes to Armstrong Woods.
Great house! Everything we needed was there for a relaxing, fun Bachlorette Party. Definitely will be going back! Thanks for everything
Great place! Nice deck!
We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more!! The home is beautiful and we felt comfortable and right at home from the moment we arrived. Johnny is a great owner who is responsive and great to work with too!
