The Space

This large, 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath house in the redwoods has just been completely remodeled with all the comforts of home.

An open plan for Living Room and Kitchen is great for entertaining with guess while cooking. The large bathroom has a walk in shower with dual shower heads - and, a tub for soaking! The kitchen is well stocked with every thing you need for cooking a large meal or simple breakfast.

Sit on the sunny roof deck which is furnished with a gas grill, table and chairs for a BBQ or enjoy a bottle of wine you purchased at one of the many tasting rooms in the are sipping on a nice bottle of Champagne from Korbel Winery - which is just a 10 minute drive.

The neighborhood is nestled in the redwoods. Canyon 7 Road winds thru the the lush canopy and you realize you are not in The City any more. There is parking for one car in the front driveway, and one in the driveway in the rear of the house.

You are just a 5 minute walk to a variety of fun destinations: Swimming/Boating in the Russian River, playing Marco Polo in the Rio Nido Pool, a round of Pee Wee Golf, dine at the Rio Nido Roadhouse .

Driving to Rio Nido is just 1 hour 40 mins, 74 mi from San Francisco.
You can also take Golden Gate Transit from San Francisco and connect in Santa Rosa on Sonoma County Transit to Rio Nido

The air is fresh and you are surrounded by redwoods at every turn.

There is a 2 night minimum and a 3 night minimum stay on holiday weekends. This policy is flexible depending on booking activity.

  • Johnny's place was in a perfect location! We were surrounded by sequoia's and had an awesome sun deck to enjoy our coffee, etc. We were only a few miles from downtown which had the most amazing restaurants. Try Seaside Metal Oyster and Boon & Eat! River is across the street and awesome beach is within miles. Also walking distance is the community pool with outdoor bar. Back to home.... It was clean, had plenty of towels and very spacious for 6 ladies. Place is decorated really cute. Lots of great wineries within 15 min. Johnny is very responsive and easy to work with. I would definitely stay here again.

  • This house was *perfect* for my friend's bachelorette weekend. The place was even better than we could have imagined! The bedrooms, kitchen, and living room are big, clean, and well decorated. We had lots of counter space to make dinner together, and the outdoor patio was wonderful for eating. We were also able to spread out and play board games on the couches and floor. Johnny even called afterward to let me know that we had left our CDs. Thanks for giving us a space for the perfect weekend!

  • WOW! This place was perfect for our family and our needs. We had a daughter getting married at the Roadhouse. We could walk to and from the venue. This house was used for wedding pictures around the redwoods and the photographers loved the location. We rented the two back studios for family members and this house was where we all ate, played games, talked, laughed, and the bride was able to walk with her father to the venue for her wedding. It was PERFECT for our needs.

  • It was a wonderful experience all around. Johnny was very responsive and careful to check what our needs were. Once we got to the house, everything was very organized and clean. The kitchen really is well equipped and they even have some toys for the little ones, which was great! I definitely recommend this to the whole community.

  • Gorgeous house in a gorgeous area. We had plenty of room for 8 people to stay (with an air mattress in the large living room). Love that the kitchen was so well stocked. Checking in and out couldn't have been easier. The bar just a few steps away was fun! And we also walked to Stumptown Brewery and spent time swimming at the beach across the street. It's the perfect spot. Highly recommended. Thanks, Johnny.

  • When we walked in the door, we were blown away by how big and open the living room and kitchen area are! The living room has a cozy sofa, and all the countertops and tables are modern, clean, and beautiful. The shower is also awesome.

There were only two of us this weekend, but there are three bedrooms in the house, and we'll come with more people next time and hang out on the roof deck when it's warmer. We cooked a big brunch and dinners both days and spent our time exploring during the day.

The Rio Nido Roadhouse is a block away, so be prepared to rock on Saturday nights. We opened the windows, and even popped in for the last few songs of the final set.

Do note the house is not in downtown Guerneville. It's a quick drive, but it would be a long walk.

Love the area, loved the house, we'll be back!

  • Great time, comfy house! Johnny and the housekeeper were very friendly and accommodating, even opening up an empty house next door to give us an extra bathroom on New Years Eve. The house has a very well-equipped kitchen, nice bathroom, and separate heat controls for every room. Rio Nido is a funky little village about a mile from the slightly larger town of Guerneville. We were welcomed at the Rio Nido Roadhouse, about 200 yards from the house, and we went there for live music two nights of our stay.

  • The house is well equipped for a nice weekend getaway. We had a great time. The location is good, right next (email hidden) and a close walk to the river. Thanks Johnny!

  • Johnny came through at the last minute for me. We were in Guerneville without a place to stay at 6pm, and by 7pm we were settling in to the Russian River Paradise.

The house was lovely. Comfortable beds, large shower, spacious kitchen, awesome deck, fantastic grill, and everything was immaculately clean.

We had a wonderful time with Johnny and I hope to come back again.

  • Wonderful house in a central location. We discovered a nice hike up the one-way looped street behind the house that leads to a fire road where you're near the ridge and can go for a long time. The rio Nido roadhouse has a busy Labor Day weekend with music and Rolling Stones cover band. The accommodations are spacious and bathroom is large and convenient. There's a single toilet too so having 6 of us didn't make getting ready a long chore. Kitchen is open to living room and was perfect for cooking dinner. We were minutes to downtown guerneville and had dinner at Hi Five (now called pat's) and Onoz, a Hawaiian place. Both were good. Duncan Mills was a cute shopping complex just further west. We stopped at sunset beach and monte rio beach - both are good swimming spots. Armstrong redwood reserve has amazing hikes that are strenuous for non hikers. Beautiful vistas.

About
I am originally from North Carolina (yes, i still have my 'southern' accent even after 27 years living in San Francisco. I am fine art and commercial photographer ((website hidden)), and I have founded and run several 3 galleries in San Francisco ((website hidden)) and produced many art events to raise money for non-profits. I am also an artist coach and still maintain my connections to sell art by local artists. I love traveling when time and finances permit. I've been to Egypt, Turkey, London, Paris, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Costa Rica, and Mexico. Hawaii of course if you live on the west coast ! I want to go to Asia or Peru next..... I must have my coffee first thing in the morning and have been known to get coffee across the street....so that I can meet a friend for coffee later. I will eat pretty much anything unless it is really hot and spicy. I love red wine, wine tastings.....and who doesnt like margaritas. However, martini's at "The Top of the Mark" is what you drink there.
