The Space

My house is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house with an outdoor jacuzzi, TV with cable, wireless internet, easy and plenty street parking, 800 thread counts sheets with down feather pillows and comforter. Less than a mile from Castro St (downtown Mountain View), great restaurants, bar, night clubs, farmers market, street fairs. half block from G@@gle campus, Caltrain Station. I love to cook and if I am home early from work I will be more then happy to cook you a nice and delicious meal. I love to have people around. The place is quiet and tranquil with a lovely and peaceful energy.
Have two bicycles (that you can use) and a beautiful trail behind my house that connect to Shoreline Park.

Guest Access

Interaction with Guests

I am pretty open with my guests, and i also like to give you your privacy and personal space. I am not around a lot and you may not even see me while you are in my house. I will interact with you if you interact with me otherwise i will leave you to be at your own space and time.

The Neighborhood

I love my neighborhood, it's quiet and tranquil. On the weekends is even better since the few companies around don't open or work on the weekends. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area, farmers market on sundays and shoreline park for fun outdoors.

Getting around

Public transportation is not the best here. I am very close to the call train and buses but there are not many buses in the area. I strongly recommend you getting a car while here.

  • The room looks very sweet, and is also very clean and quite. The community around is really nice. I took several walks around the neighborhood. And Silvia is also a nice host. I really enjoyed talking with her. Plus, there is a really cute dog :P

  • A truly unforgettable stay.

Silvia is a wonderfully entertaining host, who is full of life and generosity at all times. And a great cook, at that: we had a few dinner parties with her lovely friends.

Her house is impeccably clean. Its guest bed is unequivocally comfortable. I never found the time to try out the jacuzzi, but I most assuredly will next time.

The location is walking distance from downtown Mountain View and its train station, and a bike is available to go there faster. So stores and restaurants are right nearby for all practical purposes.

    Highly recommended!

  • I had a very nice, albeit short (just 2 nights) stay at Silvia's place. The place was just as depicted in the photos - clean and peaceful. The bed was comfortable, and neighborhood very quiet at night - good zzz's! The fridge was also well appointed with snacks and beverages, a nice perk. I would have liked to stay longer - didn't get a chance to test out the Jacuzzi!

I did not have a chance to meet Silvia in person - just how our schedules happened to work out.

  • Silvia’s place is nice, quiet, pleasant, and clean. During my stay, I had little problem to find places to eat, because there is a near-by shopping plaza two blocks away, which is entirely within walking distance. Silvia was very friendly and I had the honor to be invited to join a small BBQ gathering in the yard. It was fun and I got to learn about Silvia’s interesting personal stories, including her extensive traveling all over the world. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend Silvia’s place to others who are looking a peaceful place to stay.

  • I stayed with Silvia for a bit over three weeks while I was a visiting scholar at a lab associated with Stanford. Silvia was always helpful and kind and very ready to help in any way she could. My stay was very comfortable and pleasant, and I would certainly come back.
For the first two weeks she loaned me a bicycle so that I could get to the Caltrain station, and otherwise get around the area, which is very bicycle friendly. In my last week I hired a car. Public transport is not great in Silicon Valley. Silvia's place is in a very pleasant area near to a large (website hidden) campus, and 20 minutes walk to the restaurants and night life of Castro Street. Having said that, Silvia gave me free run of her kitchen, so I was able to eat economically and healthily.

  • Silvia was an excellent host. Very outgoing but respecting privacy too. I cannot imagine a better welcome than a chicken udon noodle soup she prepared for myself - wretched by nausea, on my later night arrival that.

Apartment was very clean and my room was cleaned twice during my 10 day stay.

House was very silent for most of the time since Silvia lives a busy life.

I recommend staying there and definitely will be coming back.

  • Another wonderful stay, thank you Silvia!

  • Silvia was a wonderfully welcoming person! Unfortunately I only got to meet her the one evening as she was off traveling for the rest of my stay, however Silvia and her sister were very fast to respond to any question or concern I had.

  • It was great staying at Silvia's house. Silvia really made feel at home, her kitchen was stocked with everything I needed to prepare the breakfast in the morning and I really enjoyed chatting to her in the evening. If you're staying in Mountain View, I strongly recommend Silvia's home!

I am originally from Brazil and been living in the US for over 12 years. I live in a 3 bed 2 bath house, less than a mile from Castro Street. half block from (website hidden). I love to travel, to entertain, to cook, to dance and make new friends. Traveling is my passion and I am always on the move. I do yoga and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that keeps me in shape. I would be happy to let you know all the places to go around my area like restaurants, bars, farmers market, coffee shops, etc I started to use Airbnb long time ago but just last year i started to host and I just LOVE it. It's been great meeting new people, having lovely and smart conversations with a glass of a good wine.
