Light-filed little refuge in the woods. Writers retreat, quiet womb like space; a place for solace and introspective. Deer, birds, nature watching, reading, calm, sweet- heart time.
Set by itself & private on the same property as my 2 other cottages.

The space

Welcome to this charming, private Tiny House that I call "The Caravan"
ALL KIND PEOPLE WELCOME, no matter what religion-, sexual orientation- or country you are from!
It is set among the trees on 3 acres on beautiful Whidbey Island, 2 miles from the town of Freeland (antique stores, grocery store, post office, etc., etc.), about 5 miles from my favorite beach,"Double Bluff", that holds stunning views of the Cascade Mountains, Mt. Rainier, and the Olympic Mountains with miles of walking.
The caravan is a cozy light- filled and airy space with its high ceiling and many windows and a skylight.
The sleeping loft has an opening window and the skylight for a more spacious feel, as well as a comfy double size foam pad and futon mattress bed on a futon frame.
The galley kitchen is equipped with an under the counter fridge, a toaster oven, a 2 burner hot plate, a coffee maker, an electric tea kettle, all the dishes and basic condiments.

The bathroom has a shower and a flushing toilet. This is not a regular septic tank, please flush only when absolutely necessary, and please put all paper and feminine products into the garbage can provided!
As someone so wisely said:
If it's yellow let it mellow. If it's brown flush it down.

All linens are provided (towels and sheets).
You may lounge on the inviting window bench seat to take in the open forest gully view, or enjoy the dial-up internet to write those long- due letters on your computer.
However, I was made aware that the WiFi is spotty, so I put in a land line that you may connect to via the phone jack or an apple-only adapter ( sorry but there are too many PC adapters at each around $40 that I won't get). The 15' yellow cord, which is located under the table with the stereo, will allow you to take the computer onto the porch via the window.
Bring a device/ Computer that has a phone jack or an apple-only USB port on it for the phone line.

Either way, this super quiet romantic place for two will leave you nurtured and nourished by its splendid green views and quiet nature surrounds.
Please make sure to read the house rules and manual.

The perfect little space for a quiet vacation! The house is so cute & comfy, and close to amazing views, restaurants, and shops. My partner and I had a blast driving over to Langley, shopping at Music for the Eyes, Edit, The Star Store, and eating dinner at Ferments. The house also had a wonderful guide book that led us to Mukilteo's Cafe in the Woods, which turned out to be, I think, one of my favorite breakfast / coffee shops ever! Thanks for such a lovely stay! Hope we can come back again soon.

We stayed in the Caravan for a week-long get away and couldn't have been happier! The location in the woods was beautiful, and the Caravan was lovely. Mandeja was a wonderful host and we had everything we needed for a restful week after a very busy year. The location was perfect - it was very easy to get everywhere we wanted to go. We're so glad we found this place!

This was our second time staying in this little cabin in the woods. It's secluded and surrounded by trees, quiet, colorful, impeccably clean, and comfortable like a warm blanket. We will be coming back as soon as we can.

Mandeja User ProfileMandeja is a superhost.

I am a dynamic woman who has traveled the world and found a pearl named Whidbey Island. I tried to leave once, but to no avail: she beckoned me back into the beauty of her many beaches with views of many different mountains, a community one may only hope for, and the serenity of nature that fills me with solace not found anywhere else on the planet.
I am looking forward to sharing this special place with you!

Also, this is who I am as a guest:
Being a considerate visitor is very important to me. I promise that your space will be gratefully occupied and left as clean as I found it -- no exceptions. I value your privacy as well as my own, which means that our interactions will always be respectful of your time and energy. You can expect timely communication to coordinate logistics, as well as friendliness and warmth from me during my stay.

Thanks for considering me as a guest in your living space. I know that many Airbnb listings are located in people's homes, and I really appreciate the extension of trust that makes these exchanges happen. Contact me if you have any questions or concerns about hosting me -- I read house rules carefully, and will always be open to direct communication about your needs or requests (before & during a stay). See you soon!

Davide and I have been a couple since 2008 and are experienced and responsible travelers.
