Your hassle free, wilderness adventure is all inclusive of accommodation for up to 6 people (May-Sep), 4 people (Apr and Oct) 1 return boat cruise from Egmont, and food. Simply grab your bag and set your watch to island time.

Make magical memories, reconnecting with family and friends whilst immersed in the privacy of your own slice of heaven; your exclusive, off-grid, private island retreat.

Out There is nestled in a mecca for marine and outdoor recreational adventures. On private island time, you can hike, kayak, paddle board, swim, snorkel or take a boat tour around the majestic inlets, or not. Just kick back, chillax, get in some serious hammock time or beachcomb over 2000 feet of shoreline.

Out There is ideal for small groups of up to 6 people, your guests can choose from three individual accommodations, each in their own private wilderness setting, with unique rustic features and stunning views:

- Ocean front tent cabin (only available from May - Sept)
- Forest tree house
- Luxury yurt room

Each room sleeps a maximum of 2 people and has incredible ocean views, private outdoor space, memory foam beds, organic bedding, composting toilets, shower, towels and locally made biodegradable soaps, shampoo and toothpaste. All rooms have access to the main yurt which houses the kitchen, comfortable living and outdoor deck spaces.

Rates include food and return boat transport from the Government Dock in Egmont.

- Egmont is a small quintessential coastal community. Downtown is one square block, with a historic general store where you can pick up any last minute snacks or drinks, a museum and thrift store.

- Out There is a private island, approximately 30 mins by boat from Egmont. The island has a large protected bay and a beautiful tombolo that connects to Nelson Island at low tide.

- Views overlook five waterways, Jervis Inlet, Agamemnon Channel, Agnew Passage, Hotham Sound and Sechelt Inlet.

- The area is a Mecca for marine and outdoor recreational activities including boating, fishing, kayaking, shallow diving, diving, hiking, swimming and endless shoreline to explore.

- For the more adventurous, we can help organise boat tours of the surrounding inlets and the spectacular Freil Falls, one of the tallest in BC, best viewed in spring and fall.

- Known locally as "The Chuck", the Skookumchuck rapids provide a powerful show of whirlpools, or turbulent standing waves that attract thrill seeking extreme kayakers from around the world. Its an easy hour long hike from Egmont.

- The warm shallow waters of the protected bay are perfect for swimming and snorkelling, (masks available) and SUP.

- To maximise relaxation we have beach chairs, shaded hammocks, a selection of board games and book library

- Out There is surrounded by spectacular marine and wildlife landscapes. Seals, sea lions, bald eagles, and chipmunks are regular visitors and the kelp beds are teeming with sea-life. Don't forget your camera!

- Depending on the season you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of orcas and dolphins.

Hand made with love by your hosts Andy, Liz & adopted dog Nina, along with a whole bunch of friends and family, Out There was dreamed up from a desire to jump off the mouse wheel, escape the cage, run for the hills and find our wild!

We were magically drawn into the breathtaking beauty of Egmont, Jervis Inlet and specifically Nelson Island. Sure enough, our dream property was right there waiting for us. As one of our guests described it, serendipity found.

After many years of saving, planning, observing, learning, repeat, Out There began to take shape in the summer of 2012. Our dream was to create a rustic but luxurious off-grid oasis designed to take advantage of BC's temperate rainforest by harvesting rainwater, solar and wind power. Our main goal was to "fit in" and leave minimal impact on the surrounding environment.

For us, its all about making memories and we hope Out There provides an inspirational back-drop for your own wilderness adventures.

During your stay

- When our space is booked, we are located in Egmont, approximately 30 mins away by boat. We are always contactable to answer any questions or deal with any issues.
- If needed, someone can be available to remain on site to answer any questions, deal with day to day property maintenance, help organise equipment rentals or tours.
- Food is included due to limited storage and refrigeration facilities and to minimise waste. Let us know of any dietry needs or allergies in advance.
- Guests can make their own meals from the well stocked pantry, fridge and seasonal garden.
- For convenience, nutritious homecooked, vegetarian evening meals are available from the freezer for guests to heat and eat for the first two nights.
- Subject to any red tide warnings, guests can harvest daily limits of oysters and clams from the beach. Don't forget to pick up a fishing licence.
- We have a seasonal wood-fired hot tub on site with spectacular views of the surrounding inlets. Please note: The hot tub is DIY. It takes about 4 hours to heat up. Guests must be prepared to chop wood and monitor the fire themselves. Use of the hot tub is subject to local campfire restrictions during the summer months.
