Interaction with Guests
If we're staying in town we will gladly meet up during your stay, but we also want people to feel like it's their place.
This is one of the most hip neighborhoods in New York City. As described above it is very creative with a ton of photographers, musicians, artists and other creatives. We are also home to a long-standing Polish population. Many stores in the area are written in both English and Polish, and employees generally speak both languages!
There is a lovely fruit stand one block away, multiple bars, and more coffee shops then you could throw a stick at! Also we just discovered a coffee shop two blocks away just started serving the world famous Dough Donuts (K Bagel Cafe at 142 nassau). The neighborhood just keeps getting more awesome!
One of the best parts of New York City is the public transportation. We are a short 5 min walk to the Nassau G subway stop, or a 10 min walk to either the Bedford L train or Graham ave L train. Long story short you can be in Manhattan in about 20 min.
Other Things to Note
We have lived in this area for over 14 years and know just about every aspect of it. If you have any questions, ranging from a good tailor, a fast tailor, an old-world italian sandwich shop, the best iced espresso, etc Just ask!
Please smoke outside.
Please do not use the garden after 9pm.
PLEASE NO PARTIES.
Nora and Jac were such nice hosts! They left clean towels, a new bar of soap, a whole pile of menus/guides to food in the area, and even a coupon for drinks at the local bar. The apartment was clean, quiet, large by NYC standards, with a lovely backyard and very cute decor. Highly recommended.
My husband, son and I stayed at Nora's and Jac's over new years and our stay was perfect in every way. Great location, quiet neighborhood, comfortable/cozy apartment. Nice large kitchen! And, Nora and Jac were fabulous -- wonderful communication, kind and open, providing resources for the area, checking in on us, etc. etc. Easy access to the L and G trains made our visits to Manhattan easy! Exploring Greenpoint and Williamsburg was a real highlight. Tons of ethnic restaurants, great bars, Polish delis and bakeries and so on. I can't wait to go back! Thank you Nora and Jac for opening your place to us at such a wonderful time of the year!
Wonderful stay in NYC...
The host Nora and Jac did their best. They always asked if we're arrived good and have some questions or need help. Thank you a lot for everything. You made our stay perfect!
The appartement is in good location just 10 minutes by Subway to the City.
We will stay at their appartement again
This is a great quintessential Brooklyn apartment with nice artistic touches throughout. Greenpoint is a quiet and laid back neighborhood. Restaurants and other amenities are within walking distance. We traveled with two dogs who enjoyed spending some time sunning themselves in the small backyard and taking in the new smells in the neighborhood and nearby park. We were fortunate to be able to meet Nora and Jac, our hosts, just before heading back home. They are a very warm and welcoming couple. We had kept in touch by e-mail before arriving and they were very responsive to all our questions and provided lots of information so that by the time we arrived we knew the ropes and felt right at home. Definitely worth a return visit.
Great host, very nice place in a cute and safe neighborhood, I loved staying there! Very good communication and also easy check-in and check out - I would recommend a stay!
Our stay at Jac and Nora's house was tremendous. Greenpoint is one of the greatest places to stay at. Very close to Williamsburg and Manhattan, but relaxing and quiet. Great Location, transfer to Midtown-Manhattan is a maximum of 15-20 mins, very easy by G and L train. They are great hosts, checked everyday if we needed anything and provided very quickly. The house and the garden is just as you see in the pictures, awesome. Highly recommended!

About the Host, Nora
Jac and Nora are artists and designers. We own a house in Greenpoint and an old farmhouse up in the catskills. We go back and forth between the city and the mountains. We love indian food, thrift shops, and sitting in front of the fireplace reading comic books.
