The space

The Rancho is located at the edge of the famous Carara National Park overlooking the lush forests that Costa Rica has to offer and the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. We are located approximately one hour from the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose and 30 minutes from Jaco Beach.
The accommodations offer the perfect combination of secluded natural beauty and contemporary domestic comforts. There is comfortable lodging for up to 4 people offering breathtaking views as you enjoy your breakfast on the patio or take a dip in the private pool.
Get close to nature with the many adventures Costa Rica has to offer. Glide over the canopy of the rainforest on your zip-line tour, golf, horseback riding, ATV tours or play in the water as you kayak, snorkel or experience the excellent surfing and beautiful waterfalls. You name it; it’s here for your taking.

The Rancho
This comfortable casita is called Rancho because of its typical Costa Rican style of construction. The Rancho is nestled at the edge of the forest. The swimming pool is at your doorstep set in a spacious patio and is surrounded by lush, tropical gardens. It offers two queen-size beds and a private bathroom. Continental breakfast is included with your stay.
There is a fridge and a cooking plate to prepare snacks or meals. A ''pulperia'' (small supermarket) is within walking distance. You can also enjoy meals all day in the restaurants close to the village of Tarcoles just a short drive away from Capulin.

Carara National Park marks the transition between the Amazonian and Mesoamerican ecosystems (dry and wet climate zones).
One of Costa Rica's most popular national parks, the reserve includes primary and secondary rainforests, a lagoon and marshlands.
It is home to more than 400 birds species and a breeding site for at least 40 pairs of Scarlet Macaws.

There are no words to describe how wonderful Claudine is and her home is truly breathtaking. She is so blessed to have a wonderful home, and anyone who books with her is so incredibly lucky as well! This place is a real gem, and our trip was all the better for staying here.

Rancho Capulin is an amazing place to stay. The home is surrounded by a beautiful landscaped garden and it had a nice pool. It has everything you need. Claudine is a wonderful and kind host and she prepared a great breakfast for us. My family and I enjoyed a lot our stay and we will recommend this place to everyone.

This guest house directly adjacent to Claudine's pool was perfect for a few days of relaxation. It's private and serene. The pool and home were perfect for our family of three, clean and modern. Claudine's attention to detail was much appreciated. Her breakfasts a delight to the senses. She is a very generous host. The location was easy to find and close to many good restaurants (Costa Rica style). We wanted to stay longer but had to continue on our journey - we will return!

Claudine was a very nice host! Her breakfast in the morning was incredible. The pool is awesome - but at night the animals and insects are very loud. We also had a few critters in our room that night..which was a bit scary, but overall it was a great experience!

This is my second time staying at Rancho Capulin and it was just as perfect as before. There location is quiet and secluded, yet still has several delicious places to eat very close. Its only a short drive to Jaco. Claudine is such a great hostess and cooks a delicious French breakfast that she serves you on her patio with the best views. I definitely recommend staying at Rancho Capulin.

This place is a hidden gem. We picked it based on the location and the reviews. It is a beautiful setting, the landscaping is lush, we saw Macaws, monkeys, crocodiles. The breakfast was amazing, just like the reviews said. A really nice mix of modern convenience with Costa Rican jungle. Lastly, Claudine could not have been more gracious. We would definitely stay here again when visiting this area.

Claudine is the most gracious host! Her crepes are delicious. The property is beautifully and thoughtfully designed. My stay was very relaxing and I also had 2 adventures that Claudine booked for me, a crocodile tour and zip lining! Both places were welcoming, professional, and fun! I saw macaws each morning from the main house deck during breakfast. Jaco Beach is a short drive away. I will stay at Rancho Capulin again when I return to Costa Rica! Thank you Claudine!

I'm from Luxembourg but I lived for 20 years in France. With my husband and our youngest son we moved to Costa Rica 5 years ago.
